This 3-1/8" x 2" rectangular Peterson LED light gives you crisp, bright visibility without the power draw of old bulbs. With two white LEDs behind a red lens, it puts out clean light while using only 0.04 amps at 12V. The LEDs last about 50 times longer than traditional incandescent lights, so there’s no need to worry about swapping bulbs or dealing with fragile filaments. It’s built to run on 9V–16V DC systems for consistent performance every time you hook up.
Instead of adding a separate reflector, this light already has one built in. That means you get both a clearance or side marker light and a reflector in one clean piece. It keeps your setup simple, looks tidy, and still meets DOT compliance thanks to its P2 rating for road use.
Road vibration and bumps are no problem here. The LED circuit board uses surface-mounted diode (SMD) construction that holds up under shock and helps spread heat evenly. This lets the housing stay thinner while keeping the internal components safe and working reliably long-term.
Mounting is flexible and simple. The light comes ready for stud mounting with the included stud or can be surface-mounted with two screws (sold separately). The two-wire setup keeps wiring easy—one lead for power and one for ground—so it hooks up fast with less fuss.
The P2 rating gives this light a 45-degree beam on either side of center, for a total of 90 degrees of forward-facing coverage. It’s designed to work as either a clearance light or side marker light depending on how you mount it, giving you clear visibility right where you need it most.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Peterson Red Rectangle LED Clearance or Side Marker Light with Reflector. This P2 rated LED Trailer Light is going to function as a clearance or side marker light when properly mounted. The built-in reflex reflector is going to remove the need for a separate reflector. And as you can see, I already have this connected to 12-volt power and you can see what this looks like with my studio lights on.
But let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off just to give you a better indication of what this is going to look like in the dark, low light situations. And let me zoom out here just so you can get a a better view. And I'm gonna shine this on the wall here behind me. Now as you know, LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last 50 times longer, and they're more efficient, and they're gonna be providing a brighter light with less power output.
So there's no bulbs to replace. No brittle filaments to worry about. And this is a red lens over two white LEDs. So let me go ahead and turn my studio lights back on here, and I'm gonna go ahead and disconnect this from power and give you a view of the back here. This is going to be compatible with your 12-volts DC systems.
This is a two-wire design. So the black wire is going to be your power lead, and then your white wire with this ring terminal is gonna be your ground wire. And this has a power draw of 0.04 amps on a 12-volt power. And the durable SMD construction of the LED Circuit Board is going to better withstand shock and vibration. It's going to allow for improved heat distribution and thinner construction.
As you can see, you're gonna stud mount this light to your trailer with the included stud. This can also be surface mounted with two screws, and those screws are sold separately. It's not included with this light. This is DOT-compliant. Let me retrieve my ruler here, and leave you with some overall measurements, and it's probably gonna be easier to measure this from the back here. So looking at the overall all length, we are sitting right at three and one eighth inches long. The overall height. See if I can. There we go. We're sitting right at two inches high. Two inches tall. And then the overall depth of the light itself. We're sitting at almost an inch. Let's call it at about 15, 16 of an inch deep. Well that's gonna wrap up our brief look today. Received immediately. Easy to install and works great. My only concern is that they are made out of a very light plastic material and were a little pricey for single LED lights. They are definitely bright enough. I have not had a chance to put the trailer in the water to see if they are waterproof, but I’m sure they are.
1 of 4 defective, Red marker LED defective dull light and off center, not damaged in shipping, actually defective from manufacturing. Otherwise the other three were of good quality
Had these lights on RV for a few years. Works well, only one light failed recently. Would recommend to others.
The lights themselves are great and look good at night. Installed 7, 2 Reds and 5 Yellows on my horse trailer.
What was not so good was the cost. The Reds at the time I ordered were $x.xx each, while the Yellows were $xx.xx apiece. They are the exact same light with different color lenses. Why is that???
Anyhow, needed them and bought them.
Also, the shipping was right on, arrived quickly.

2/3 of my order arrived correctly but one pair did not arrive, instead something I did not order arrived instead,
These clearance lights are the bees knees! The old bulb style were rusted and not working properly. Was able to remove them and these fit the holes perfectly on the trailer. I used a heat shrink connector to keep it waterproof. Love how bright they are!
