Today we're taking a look at a Peterson identification light bar for trailers. This is an incandescent trailer light that functions as an identification light bar for your trailer. It does have the incandescent bulbs, so those are easy to replace. We have the nice durable powder coated white base. That's a steel construction, so it's designed to resist rust and corrosion. And then we have an amber lens over each incandescent bulb. Now when you're ready to replace, all you gotta do is take a flat blade screwdriver, pry that bracket open, and then simply just remove the lens.
That's going to give you access to the socket and the bulb. You can just pull out the bulb, push in your new one, and that's all there is to it. The bulb type, or that number right there, is a one nine three bulb and it contains three of those, one per light. Then you place the lens back on the bracket and it simply just snaps back into place. So whenever you need to replace the bulb, it's a very quick and easy process. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems.
It mounts directly on the surface of your trailer, so you have a mount hole on each end of the unit. Single wire design. That's your power wire, and then it grounds through the mounting hardware. It is Department of Transportation compliant.I did take a measurement of the overall length, edge to edge, and got a measurement of about 16 and 5/8 inches long. Measuring edge to edge going this direction measures about one and 1/16 and then from the very front of the unit, including the lens to the very back of the unit, that's about one and 7/16 of an inch deep.
And then the mount holes are separated on center by 16 and 1/8 inches. Again, the bulb type is a 193 and it contains three of those incandescents. We're going to go and hook it up to power. That way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. So here you can see it sends out a really nice, clear, consistent signal. Again, it's an incandescent bulb design and it contains three of those.
The amber lens allows plenty of light to come through, and again, it sits on that nice white steel base, has that powder coated finish on it to protect it from the elements. That's going to do it for today's look at the Peterson identification light bar for trailers.
