  • Replacement Hub Components for Hub 9606020
While the # L68149 most likely corresponds to the inner bearing number of your hubs. If this is the case, you have either a 3.5k or a 4.4k axle. In order to know absolutely sure, you need to know the corresponding outer bearing number or the inner and outer diameter of the grease seal. You most likely need to wipe away the grease in order to reveal the outer bearing number. In order to accomplish this, I recommend using calipers like the 4" Carbon Fiber Digital Caliper # PTW80157. I...

  • How to Determine Hub and Spindle Size
The spindle dimensions are as follows: A is the mounting dimension, B is the seal dimension, C is the inner bearing surface, D is the outer bearing surface and E is the diameter of the threaded portion of the spindle for spindle nut selection. Say you need a spindle and hub for a wheel with 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and an axle that is 3500 lbs. For a single axle trailer you can use two of either the item # TRU64FR, if your axle is round or item # TRU47FR if your axle is square. Then...

  • What Spindle do I Need to go With the CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assembly w/ Case for 3.5K Axles?
Hello Jason, Since you need the CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assembly w/ Case for 3.5K Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized - Pre-Greased # CE13515 you will want the #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 1-3/4" Diameter # TRU64FR. When swapping out a new spindle it needs to be precise. If you are not an experienced welder then I suggest having someone put it on for you. If you are experienced welder, then as Larry the Cable guy says, "Git-R-Done!" Looks like you already knew the parts you...

  • Recommended Replacement Spindles for a Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly W/ a 6 on 6 Bolt Pattern
Hey Steve, the #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # TRU64FR is not going to work with the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 6,000-lb Axles # 42660UC1. You'd actually want to use either the #42 Spindle for 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU57FR or the #42 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Flange for 5.2K to 7K Trailer Axles # TRU37FR for an E-Z lube spindle. What kind of trailer are you hauling? If there is anything else I can do for you, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know.

  • What Size of Spindle is Needed for a 3,500-Lb Axle
I have three spindles that are for a 3,500-lb axle and have the bearing dimensions you have listed. The only difference is the dimension for the grease seal is 1.75 inches, not the 1.795 inches that you have mentioned. Maybe you typed in the seal diameter wrong. The hub number you have mentioned is just a casting number, not a part number. The three spindles I have for a 3,500-lb axle are as follows. #84 Spindle - 1-3/4" Diameter (8-1/4" OAL) # TRU64FR #84 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Brake Flange...

  • What Size Spindle do Bearings L68149 and L44649 fit on
Yes, you are going to want a spindle that has the 1.063" and 1.378" measurements. This is commonly known as a #84 spindle and can be found on our site with a few variances. For example, the TruRyde EZ Lube Spindle # TRU74FR comes with a brake mounting flange and a grease zerk fitting while the Redline Spindle # TRU64FR does not come with the flange or a zerk fitting. These fit the typical round applications but we also have one for a square application with part # TRU47FR. Any of these...

  • Replacement Idler Hub Options For a 30 Year Old Homemade Trailer With 68149 & 12749 KOYO Bearings?
I have a couple recommendations for you as your current spindle size is obsolete. First you can have 2 new Spindles # TRU64FR welded on your axle to use the current Hub # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K. The simplest option may be to use the CE Smith Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs # CE33201GA-HUB. This gives you an all new axle and hubs so you do not have to worry about welding the spindles on straight or the axle tube bending due to the age of the steel.
