E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

After some 3000 highway miles and a few rough country roads carrying motorcycles and ATVs, only issue has been a lost dust cap.

works great from what i hear. as anything you take care of it and it will do the job and take care of you.

by:

Exactly as pictured. I can't comment on fitment as I did not buy it to use at this time but rather as a spare to have with me on a long trip. I opened it and checked everything and it appears well made. The only reason for four stars and not five is the bearings are not pre-loaded with grease but rather shipped dry. This is not a big deal as I always have the grease gun with me but I would have preferred them to have had grease in them and sealed for rust protection but I'll just grease them and put them in a zip lock bag, I''ll also put a little grease inside the Hub for rust protection.

Great product. Well made and easy to install. I will add that there was a delay in the shipping process that was not the fault of etrailer, however I called customer service and Candra G. did an amazing job of locating my shipment and expediting it’s delivery to get me on the road for a trip. Overall great product and amazing support!

In order to use Jeep wheels with the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System you'll need to go with the part # ASR1THDS03 which has a 2,200 lb weight capacity. This can then be used with the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-550-35-EZ-K or the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K and Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA if you need brakes. This will give you a 5 on 5" bolt pattern to use the Jeep wheels as well as the lift and offset needed for clearance.

  • Is There Trailer Hub that Has 5 on 5 inch Bolt Pattern
Hey Rich, it sounds like you are looking for a 5 on 5 inch bolt pattern trailer hub which we do offer but only if the axle is a 3,500 lb axle. For a hub/drum we have the part #AKHD-550-35-EZ-K or for an idler hub you'd want the part # AKIHUB-550-35-EZ-K.
