In order to make sure you get the right components for your Donahue Horse Trailer, we will need some more information. If you are wanting to replace the spindle, the first thing you will need to know is the weight capacity and dimensions of the axle you plan on using the spindle on. Please keep in mind that installing the spindle require welding it to the axle by a certified welder. They use special jigs so that it is concentric and square on the axle or it can cause problems with uneven tire wear and wheel tracking.
I have attached a helpful article about trailer spindles you can check out. You will need to take some measurements on the spindle you currently have with a precision instrument like a digital caliper, to make sure you choose the correct replacement.
If you have 3,500 lb axles on your trailer and it measures 1.75 inches diameter, we have 3 spindles that may work for you. They are as follows:
#84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 1-3/4" Diameter (8-1/4" OAL) # TRU64FR
#84 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Brake Flange for 3,500-lb Trailer Axle - 1-3/4" Diameter (9" OAL) # TRU74FR
#84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 1-3/4" Diameter (11-1/4" OAL) # TRU84FR
The bearing kit for these spindles is part # BK2-100. The kit includes the bearings and races, grease seal, washer, and cotter pin.
If you decide you want to replace the axle or axles entirely, and need 3,500 lb axles I recommend part # e43SR. These axles have a 4 bolt mounting flange for the brakes, included, and hubs with 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. The measurement hub face to hub face is 89 inches. Spring center to spring center they are 74 inches long. I have attached a link to a video review of this axle you can take a look at.
