The EZ-Latch coupler makes hitching simple and secure. You don’t have to fight with a trigger latch or guess whether it’s locked on. Just lower the trailer onto your 2" hitch ball—the latch snaps into place automatically with a solid click. There’s no need to hold the latch open, and you can drop in a locking pin through the side hole if you want extra theft protection. This setup gives you quick, repeatable hookups and a lot more confidence before you hit the road.

If your setup needs a little help lining up, the built-in 4" drop takes care of mismatched heights between trailer and tow vehicle. It keeps the trailer level for smoother towing and steadier braking. The actuator bolts right onto a 3" wide tongue using 1/2" x 4-1/2" Grade-5 bolts (not included) and follows a standard three-hole pattern with centers at 3" and 12-1/2". That means easier alignment and no custom drilling when you’re replacing an old unit.
When you ease on the brakes, the Demco DA91 actuator pushes fluid from its glass-reinforced nylon master cylinder straight to your drum brakes. The automotive-style diaphragm cap keeps contaminants out, while the large reservoir holds more brake fluid to help prevent running low during long hauls. The inner member glides on a heavy-duty, self-lubricating plastic liner for consistent movement every time you stop.

This actuator is made from heavy-duty steel and coated with zinc that lasts twice as long as standard plating, proven by its 200-hour salt spray rating. That’s real peace of mind for trailers that see water, mud, or road salt. The included breakaway cable with snap hook adds another layer of safety—if the trailer ever separates, it pulls tight to activate the brakes automatically.

With an 8,000 lb gross towing weight and 800 lb maximum tongue weight rating, this surge actuator is ready for serious work. It doesn’t need an electric brake controller to function—just hitch up, fill the reservoir, and go. As you slow down, momentum compresses the actuator and applies hydraulic pressure to your drum brakes for smooth, proportional stopping every time.

I live on a farm where it seems we're always fixing trailers or building trailers for use. I have bought several hitches from etrailer and they have ALWAYS been helpful. Great selection to choose from also. Recommend them highly.

great customer service and quality prod uct.
Used this for a homemade dump trailer.
Found it was best to use a skid steer to bleed the system, move the tongue in. Then have a chain to back out. 2 person job.
Overall good product. Brakes work great! Plan on making a cover for the reservoir tank.
Excellent quality, very sturdy construction and excellent service.
Quality of the parts is good. Fit was good. Assembly quality was poor. Missing the cotter pin for the damper end pin . Brake fluid outlet fitting was loose.
Fast and exact replacement part, 300 bucks less that the local trailer parts store, A1 ++++
Nice hardware and fantastic customer service Nicole was very knowledgeable and helpful!
Easy install, no issues
Great. Item came early notices were very fast. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much.
The actuator works great and I have now sold the trailer and the new owner is very happy with the unt
Hitch arrived early and looks just like the picture and description. It is an exact replacement for the original. All the parts are available to rebuild the unit as well but mine was rusted pretty badly so I would have had a lot of time refinishing everything I didn't replace. In my situation there was about a $50 difference between rebuilding old or complete new unit. If your hitch is in better shape than mine, they have an excellent selection of repair parts. I would suggest taking yours apart and as long as it's not rusted solid, they can probably supply you with parts for less than $70.
Had a hard time trying to find this product, but E trailer was able to provide me with great service and found the trailer hitch I needed for my trailer.
