Video Transcript for Review of MEC Propane Fittings - Hoses - MEC67TR

Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the MEC non-leaching RV propane pigtail hose. So folks, when you're replacing the hose between your propane cylinder and your RV system, there's more to consider than just whether the fittings match. So nowadays, over time they know that contaminants have been found in LP gas cylinders and stuff because obviously they're metal, they're going to break down over time, right So that material unfortunately can make its way downstream and potentially clog your regulator, your propane appliances, and just cause issues in the future. So that's a really number one reason I think that you would want to choose a hose like this. MEC uses a specially formulated oil-free hose, so it's designed to resist those contaminants.

So you're going to help prevent the hose itself from becoming a source of contamination in the long run. On the tank side, you have an ACME type one connection. Now this is a large hand-tightened fitting. You're going to commonly see this on propane cylinders, so you're not going to need a wrench or anything like that to connect or disconnect the tank. The hose itself is 12 inches long.

It's got a quarter inch inside diameter inside of this hose. It does give you a flexible connection between that propane cylinder and the rest of your liquid propane system. Now this is going to be for high pressure propane directly from the cylinder. So it has been specifically made for those high pressures and it is UL listed for LP gas service. So again, folks, if your existing pigtail's getting old, maybe you see cracks and stuff in the hose, it's just time to upgrade it.

And in this case, you're going to help reduce the contamination in the future with a new hose. This is the MEC non-leaching RV propane pigtail, 12 inches long. Folks, I'm Steven. We do carry these in multiple lengths. You can check them all out here at etrailer.com.

Thanks for watching.
