Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at a wheel jack for your Demco Kar Kaddy Tow Dollies. Now, folks, this is what they call a sidewind jack. If you're not familiar, obviously, the handle here is on the side, and that's how you wind it up, so sidewind. If the handle was on top, it would be what they call a topwind jack. Now, this wheel jack will let you maneuver your tow dolly freely when it's not hooked up.
I'll go ahead and pop an image up. This is just one option of the tow dolly with this on it. Now, folks, this does work as an optional add-on for your Demco Kar Kaddy 3, the Kar Kaddy X, or as a replacement part for the Kar Kaddy SS. So very simple operation, you can pivot it up or down depending on which way you turn the handle. Whenever it's retracted, it's 24 inches from the ground to the top here, and fully extended, it would be 32 inches fully extended.
And you can pull the spring-loaded pin here, and then pivot this when it's on the tow dolly. That way, you could pivot the jack up and out of the way for security. Has a pin hole here, you could put a safety pin through there to keep it in place. Now, you will get all the mounting hardware here included, brackets and the bolts with the nuts and washers on there. And I do wanna point out that this trailer, or jack caster wheel rather, is replaceable.
I'll go ahead and put that item number on the screen as well in case you need one of them in the future. Very nice, well made. My first wheel jack was the one from Harbor Freight. Cheap and cheap. It fell apart. Shortly after I installed it, I was unable to flip the wheel up out of the way. Within a year, it was not “catching the gears “ so I had trouble raising the hack off the hitch.the wheel recently broke in half so I have to pick it up and move the trailer to attach it to the truck. That was the final straw. Just opened my new jack and am really happy with the quality. Solid, heavy and I have great expectations for it

For us it was a necessary item to move the Kar Kaddy around to put it up for the Winter.
