Features to know about

Replace Failing Brakes with a Direct-Fit ABS Setup: 12" Electric Assemblies for 5.2K–7K Axles

When your old brakes start dragging or wearing unevenly, these Lippert 12" x 2" electric brake assemblies make the fix simple. Each kit comes with one left-hand and one right-hand assembly that bolt right up to a 5-bolt flange and fit 14-1/2", 15", 16", and 16-1/2" wheels. They’re built for 5,200-lb, 6,000-lb, and 7,000-lb axles and are ready to pair with Lippert ABS hub-and-drum setups. With a direct fit for ABS hardware and a plug-in connection to your standard brake controller, you get smoother braking without extra wiring or programming.

Skip Constant Adjustments: Self-Adjusting Design Keeps Braking Consistent

Crawling under your trailer to tighten up brakes gets old fast. These self-adjusting assemblies take care of that for you. After an initial setup, the fine-tooth adjustment gear automatically maintains the correct shoe spacing as the brakes wear in, so you don’t lose stopping power over time. That means consistent braking effort mile after mile and no more guesswork with manual adjusters.

Built to Last Through Heavy Use: Automotive-Grade Friction Material

Each shoe is lined with an automotive-grade friction material that’s fully bonded—never riveted—for longer life and stronger braking torque. The lining is custom-molded with tapered edges and circular grinding to help prevent cracking or crumbling that can cause lockup. It’s also SAE-N certified and meets environmental standards in California and Washington, giving you high-performance braking that’s both durable and compliant across North America.

Protected Against Corrosion and Road Grime: E-Coated Backing Plate with Sealed Access Holes

Moisture, salt, and dirt can shorten brake life in a hurry. These assemblies are built to handle it with an E-coated backing plate that resists wear and corrosion. The included adjuster plugs keep dirt out of the mechanism, helping the shoes stay clean and responsive. Tested by QAI and CSA for braking performance under real-world conditions, they deliver safe, predictable stopping power every time you tow.

Ready for DIY Installation: Straightforward Bolt-On Mounting

If you like doing your own maintenance, these assemblies are made for easy installation. Each one mounts directly to your existing flange using standard hardware (sold separately) and connects just like traditional electric brakes—one wire to power, one to ground. You’ll carry over your existing ABS sensor into the pre-drilled mounting holes on the backing plate, keeping everything plug-and-play with your Lippert ABS hub system.

by:

I highly doubt I will ever get anything from Trailer again, besides waiting fro 2 weeks and paying more than if I bought local, all 4 boxes with the loaded drums were destroyed (I have pictures) the pre-greased bearing were rolling around and dirty and one was missing. NO THANKS

Shipped fast installed easy!

by:

Brakes arrived damaged. Poor packaging on etrailer’s part

by:

Perfect replacement. Easy fitment and a djustment

by:

One little hiccup.. one of the assemblies was not setup correctly. Other than that everything went together great

by:

Amy's the best!!!

by:

Austin was a huge help with making sure I picked the correct brakes that I needed. I will say I know this isn’t etrailers issue but the packaging could use a little help. There wasn’t any damage and everything was fine but there was potential for issues.

by:

Tyler is a pleasure to talk with. Got me the correct parts for my fifth wheel camper and shipping was fast.

by:

I called E Trailer you ensure that I ordered the right part. Josh was awesome! He made sure that the parts fit my RV and indicated when I should receive the order. He was 100% correct on both counts. The parts fit perfectly making the overall experience superb.
Thanks again Josh, your help was priceless.

by:

Exactly what I ordered but one assembly was tweaked pretty good so I’m going to have to take springs off brakes and reinstall adjuster and line everything back up

  • Does Lippert 12" Electric Brake Assembly ABS Need To Be Programmed Or Paired For Setup?
Great question, Matt, and you’ll be glad to know: no programming or special setup needed for the Electric Brake Assembly 12" ABS # LC83PX. These brake assemblies work just like standard electric brakes on your trailer’s wiring. One wire goes to power (typically blue), and the other to ground. What’s different is the prep for the ABS sensor (from Lippert), which communicates with an ABS ring in the hub, and it plugs into the ABS module from Lippert. So long as you’re using a compatible...

  • Replacement Brakes For A 7,000 Pound Lippert Axle
Hi Allen! The etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left/Right Hand - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA is what you are looking for and will replace the right and left brakes on one axle. 7,000 pound axles use a standard 5 bolt pattern, and Lippert also follows that standard. The only thing you want want to double check is if your trailer has anti lock brakes. They unveiled that in 2022, but it isn't super common yet. I was unable to find any info with the V000543690 number,...

Hey Jeff! We do have the Lippert ABS replacement brakes and hubs. It looks like your 2024 Grand Design Reflection 295RL has the 6 on 5-1/2 hubs for your 5,100 lb axle. The correct replacement hub and drum assembly is the # LC47PX and then for brakes you need the # LC83PX. Just a heads up, you will need to carry over the existing sensors since these don't come with them. How are you liking the ABS brakes? I've heard a lot of good things about them.

  • Replacement Anti Lock Brake Assemblies For 7K Lippert Axles ABS On Toy Hauler
Absolutely, Jason, these # LC83PX brake assemblies are designed for exactly that setup. You’ll get one left- and one right-hand side in each kit, so you’ll need two kits (four assemblies) total to do both axles. Make sure your hubs are ABS-compatible - if you’ve got 7K axle with 8 on 6-1/2inch bolt pattern, the # LC49PX with 9/16inch studs is a solid match. If you have something else, let me know! Have you noticed any trailer sway or brake pulsing on steep grades? That’s where the ABS...

  • Replacement Lippert ABS Drums And Brakes For A 4400 Pound Axle On A 2025 Grand Design 5th Wheel
Hi Kevin! This will sound odd, but you actually have a 5,200 pound axle that is capped to 4,400 pounds of capacity. Lippert does this every now and then, but the measurement and color of the drum you supplied confirmed it. Their true 4,400 pound axles use a black 10" drum and brakes (the # LC34RP and # LC79MP). So with that said, you will need the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for Lippert ABS System - 5.2K - 6K Axles - 12-15/16" - 6 on 5-1/2 # LC47PX and Electric Trailer Brake Assembly...

  • Do Lippert ABS Electric 12" Brake Assemblies Come Pre-Adjusted, Or Do I Manually Adjust Them First?
Great eye for the details, Lena. These Lippert 12inch ABS brake assemblies # LC83PX are self-adjusting, which means you only need to do a single initial adjustment, and then the brakes will automatically fine-tune themselves as you tow. By "initial adjustment", I mean you'll install it and apply the brakes quite a few times until they automatically start engaging as they should. Another way to do the initial setup is to spin the wheel and use a brake spoon through the backing plate to...
