Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Electric 12 Inch Right Hand Trailer Brake Assembly ABS Hub - LC22NX

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this electric 12-inch right hand trailer brake assembly for the Lippert ABS hubs. Now this passenger side electric trailer brake is 12 inches by two inches. And again, this is made for the Lippert ABS systems. So this is going to fit your 14 and a half-inch, 15-inch, 16-inch, and 16 and a half-inch wheels. And this is gonna work with your trailer axles that are 5,200, 6,000 or 7,000-pound axles, and the mounting flange.

And you can see that right here. Mounting flange bolt pattern is five bolts. Now the integrated sensor is going to make this a suitable replacement for hubs that use the Lippert ABS system. I said that this was a 12 by two, and I just wanted to put a ruler up there to confirm that. So as you can see, brake pad to brake pad, it's 12 inches.

And then looking at the width of the pad, as I hope you can see there, it is two inches. So as you know, electric brakes are easier to install typically, and they offer more user control than hydraulic brakes. They require only an electric brake controller, so you're not gonna have to worry about an actuator or hydraulic brake lines. The automotive grade friction material is molded to the brake shoes. The pads are fully bonded.

They're not riveted to the shoes. So that's gonna give you longer life and more breaking torque, so there's less chance of cracking and crumbling that can lead to a mechanical lockup. And thanks to the tapered edge on the brake pads and the circular grinding, these are gonna hold up really well for you. Now this is a self-adjusting brake that does not require periodic manual adjustment, like the standard brakes. As you can see here, we have this cable here that's attached to this pulley that is going to control the star wheel there.

Now you can manually adjust this if you want for, like, a finer tune, a finer tuning, or something like that. But ultimately, you're not gonna have to worry about this since it is self-adjusting. The adjuster plugs, though, are included to cover the access holes to keep dirt and grime out of the assembly and off the shoes. The e-coated backing plate is going to help resist wear and corrosion. This is QAI and CSA-certified. The mounting bolts and hardware are not included with this. You would have to pick that up separately. So on your screen, if you do not have that hardware, I am including our item number. You can just take that item number, pop it into the search field of our website. That will take you to that hardware, and you can add that to your order, if you so desire. Again, this is going to be for the right hand, the right hand side of your trailer or the passenger side of your trailer. And most modern assemblies might have a sticker indicating that or have that either even engraved on the assembly. But we do have a sticker here that points out that this is right hand. But in case you didn't know to tell the direction or the orientation of the assembly, the shorter pad is the primary pad and that always points to the front. So as you can see, this pad is shorter than the pad here that we have here on the back. So that shorter pad is the primary pad that always points to the front. So as you can see, this is going to be the right hand assembly or that passenger side assembly. Now if you do happen to have any other further questions about this assembly or any other assemblies that we carry, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We do wanna be sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
