Replacement Anti Lock Brake Assemblies For 7K Lippert Axles ABS On Toy Hauler

Updated 09/03/2025 | Published 08/25/2025

Question:

I tow a 40foot toy hauler with tandem 7K Lippert axles and 8-lug wheels. Will these brakes fit both axles? It has the lippert abs system on it for anti lock brakes

Absolutely, Jason, these # LC83PX brake assemblies are designed for exactly that setup. You’ll get one left- and one right-hand side in each kit, so you’ll need two kits (four assemblies) total to do both axles. Make sure your hubs are ABS-compatible - if you’ve got 7K axle with 8 on 6-1/2inch bolt pattern, the # LC49PX with 9/16inch studs is a solid match. If you have something else, let me know!

Have you noticed any trailer sway or brake pulsing on steep grades? That’s where the ABS really helps on bigger toy haulers like yours.

Anyone else running these brakes on a tandem axle setup? How do you all like it?

when swapping all four brakes on my tandem 7K axles, do I need to replace the ABS hubs at the same time, or can I reuse my existing ones if they’re still in good shape?

@Mark Great thinking ahead, Mark. If your current ABS hubs are in good condition (no grooves, cracks, or heat spots on the drum surface), you can absolutely reuse them with the new # LC83PX brake assemblies. Do you do most of your towing in the mountains, or more flat highway miles? That can help decide how much abuse your hubs have taken.
