Question:

looking to replace all brake pads on my 2024 Grand Design Reflection 337 RLS 5th Wheel trailer. The website doesnt seem to easily do this unless I missed something. Thanks,

Thanks for the information Mark! You didn't miss anything on either website. I checked with Grand Design and your 2024 Reflection 337 RLS came from the factory with the Electric Trailer Brake Assembly for Lippert ABS Hubs item # LC83PX. There are no replacement brake pads/shoes available.

The Electric Trailer Brake Assembly for Lippert ABS Hubs item # LC83PX include a left and right hand self-adjusting brake assemblies that work with Lippert or Curt's ABS hubs.

Please note that if you do decided to replace the entire assemblies, you will want to reuse your existing ABS sensor or purchase a new ones item # LC98FC. The Electric Trailer Brake Assembly item # LC83PX do not come with new sensors.

Thanks for the reply. That is crazy there aren’t replacement pad options! Holy disposables world! Is there a disc brake conversion kit since I’m replacing the entire assembly? That would be a worthwhile upgrade. Thanks Mark

@MarkH You're welcome! Yeah the industry is definitely headed that direction with replacement drum brake parts. It's easier to just replace the entire assemblies than repair/rehab them. $80ish dollars for a pair of new shoes and the additional labor required compared to spending $225 on brand new brake assemblies with item # LC83PX. The DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers item # DE24NR would be the correct disc brake conversion kit for your Grand Design. It comes with everything you need. Just a heads up, you will lose your ABS feature if you make the change to disc brakes.

Is there a way/work around to use the disc brake kit and keep the ABS? If not, I’m wondering what way to go!?!?

@MarkH No, there's not. The speed and braking sensors for the ABS system are monitoring the magnets on the brake assemblies. There's no workaround available that lets you reinstall them to work with rotors. Plus there's some issue with the pulsing signal the ABS module sends out that doesn't work with the EoH brake actuators. Disc brakes have far superior stopping power so doing the disc brake conversion with item # DE24NR will be a solid upgrade even with losing the ABS. Plus it's easy to replace pads, rotors, and calipers.
