Features to know about

Climbing Snowy Grades Without Slipping: Diamond Pattern Keeps You Moving

When roads turn slick or you’re pulling up a snowy drive, the diamond pattern on these Konig Commercial Truck Tire Chains keeps traction constant. The cross-hatched layout grips in multiple directions, so tires stay connected to ice or packed snow instead of spinning. That even coverage gives you better control and a steadier ride on steep or uneven terrain.

Fighting Through Deep Snow and Ice: Square Links Bite In Firmly

Each square link digs into snow and light ice to deliver dependable grip when conditions get rough. Their smaller size smooths out the ride compared to taller round links, so you don’t feel the harsh vibration on packed surfaces. You get the confident traction of a heavy-duty chain with a more comfortable drive when the miles stretch out in winter weather.

Tensioning Made Simple in the Cold: Built-In System Tightens Without Tools

No need to fumble with loose parts or extra adjusters on the side of the road. The built-in assisted tensioning lets you fit and snug the chains quickly by hand. Just connect the color-coded hooks and pull the integrated tensioners until they’re tight. Everything you need is attached, so you won’t lose pieces in the snow and the chains stay centered as you drive.

Konig truck tire chains laid flat on the ground in front of a vehicle tire to check for twists and tangles before installation.

Durability You Can Rely On All Season: Manganese Nickel Alloy Steel Resists Corrosion

Winter road salt and slush are tough on gear, but these chains are built from high-quality manganese nickel alloy steel for strength and corrosion resistance. The powder-coated side chain adds a layer of protection near your rims, and the included nylon storage bag keeps everything ready for the next storm. With proper care, they’ll handle tough winter use year after year.

Ready for Work or Travel: Fits 15"–20" Tires with 5/8" Internal Clearance

Whether you’re running deliveries, towing a load, or heading up to the mountains, these chains fit a wide range of tire sizes from 15" to 20". They require just 5/8" of internal clearance and come as a pair, backed by a 5-year warranty. It’s a rugged, straightforward setup that helps you stay prepared for snow season without the hassle.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

by:

Works great and they made the purchasing easy!

by:

Package arrived extremely quickly and fit perfectly on my tires. I haven't used them out in the wild yet but they installed easily so i don't expect any trouble. The pack is sturdy plastic and thoughtfully set up, so much so, that it comes with some plastic gloves and a plastic pad for the ground if needed.

by:

by:

Jesse was extremely helpful with our order for tire chains. The chains arrived in perfect condition and we are now prepared for any winter condition!

by:

Bought these for some trips to the NC mountains and finally got to use them in January. I was very impressed with how well these worked. Pulling out of the driveway was nearly impossible until I put them on and had instant traction. Once I figured them out, they installed in just a few minutes. Taking them off after driving was a messy experience due to the wet, dirty snow but very easy.

Highly recommend these.

by:

These chains were recommended by my car manufacturer. Found them online thru etrailer. The order was shipped quickly and verified the delivery. I tried them on in the garage. They went on easily. I have no concerns traveling this winter. So far a great product with great service.

by:

I'm new to snow chains never even seen them before living in South. I bought these for a trip to Montana. The chains look to be good quality and delivery time was excellent. The chains also come with a sturdy plastic case for storage.

by:

We purchased these chains for emergency purposes and have not used them yet. I’ve only put them on and taken them off to test fit. They seem to be sturdy and good quality. We like the small link size.

by:

Very happy with the overall quality of these chains. My experience with etrailer was fantastic. The website was extremely easy to use and the customer service chat resulted in immediate answers to my questions. Their communication is also very good. I will definitely shop here again.

by:

Very happy with these chains. I have not used them in the snow yet but have put them just to see how it works. They are good chains and simple to get on.
The customer service I received was great!!
I would do business with them again for sure.

by:

Very fast shipping considering the storms, rec'd in less than a week. This is my second set and I got them because of how easy they where to put on my Sienna and how well they worked. This set is for my Grand Cherokee, its 4wd, but I like to have the extra margin of safety. People may give me looks for putting chains on a 4wd, but I'll do what I think its best for my family.

by:

Love these chains - so easy to put on and take off that I use them almost daily in the winter (at 10,000 ft in the Rocky Mountains on roads that are often unplowed). 2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road with Falken Wildpeak A/T3s.

by:

etrailer is one of the best online retail experiences I have had in a long time. they are communicative and know their stuff. they shipped it out and it arrived before expected. thank you so much. top notch experience. The tire chains are so good and so easy to use. highly recommended.

by:

Used them for the first time last week. They are Very easy to install. I should have done it once in good weather rather than my first time being in the snow. First one took me a few minutes to figure out but once I did, the go on and come off easily and have great traction. I’m thoroughly sold on these chains

by:

ordering and delivery both easy and timely,Konig included everything per website.Test fit in garage proves correct sizing, thank you

by:

The Konig tire chains were very easy to install. I was concerned the fit might be dificult as my 21" wheels on my Cayenne were at the upper limit of the size offered but the fit is tight with no play. Excellent product.

After a season where Ive been forced California to mount the Konig tire chains twice on almost a dry road I am very happy with the speed of mounting and the relatively quiet operation. They also show no signs of damage due to the dry roads.

by:

Theses were exactly what I was looking for, easy and quick to install while not breaking the bank. Been using them for two days now and no problems or concerns as of yet.

by:

Installation was fairly simple. Delivery was quick. I can’t figure out what the gray plastic clip is for in the photo. Any ideas?

by:

After having these for a full winter season, I can say that they were well worth the purchase. 4.5 stars. Traction was supreme, and ease of install and removal is everything they say - awesome! Removed a star only because the plastic clips that route the little tensioning chain were quickly broken, and the rubber end is marginal. However when installed on my 2wd truck, I pulled a small box trailer up and down a very icy and steep slope (dirt road at scout camp) - without a hint of wheelspin. Same area immediately before chain install had cars and 4wd trucks stuck on a gentle grade. These are not smooth at all on pavement, but a lifesaver when needed.

  • Tire Chains for 2026 BMW X5 With 275/45R20 Tires
Hey Paul! Fine-link and Class S actually go hand in hand. What that is basically saying in the owner's manual is you have limited clearance and you're going to need Class S compatible tire chains so you don't tear up your BMW. This is pretty common for an SUV like the X5. European manufacturers say "fine-link" to describe low profile, and Class S compatibility is the U.S. clearance standard for restricted space vehicles which equates to low profile tire chains. It doesn't currently show...

  • Can I Use Tire Chains On The Front Tires On A 2009 Toyota Tacoma?
Hi Brian, thanks for reaching out. You were right to pause and double-check before giving him the green light. The best source here really is the owner’s manual, and for the Tacoma it clearly states not to use tire chains on the front tires. Because of the tight clearances up front, especially around brake lines and suspension components, I can’t recommend running chains on the front. Even low-profile options like the Konig chains are not safe. The Konig themselves are a great chain and...

The GVWR is the maximum the vehicle can weigh once its fully loaded. You'll...

  • Best Tire Chains For 265/70-16 Tires On 2023 Toyota Tacoma Offroad
Hello David, thanks for reaching out. We do have chains that will fit the 265/70-16 tires on your 2023 Tacoma. What I recommend are the Konig Commercial Truck Tire Chains # TH01571265. These are the drape-over chains, which are way easier to deal with than the traditional ladder style drive-over chains. These also have a diamond pattern chain, which gives better, more constant traction than other chains. I also like the Konig chains because they come with a 5-year warranty. Most other...

I looked at an online copy of the owner's manual for a 2014 Toyota Tacoma and it said you should only install tire chains on the rear wheels. If you are going to use these off-road you will need chains that are rated for that and I recommend the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains # TH01571265 because their D-shape is designed for off-road use, they are easy to install, and they are made of durable manganese nickel alloy steel. They do require you have 16mm (just under 1/4 inch) of clearance...

When using tire chains, you definitely want to use them in pairs. For your FJ Cruiser, it is best to put them on the main drive axle, which is the rear axle. On most 4x4 vehicles it is generally acceptable to use chains on all 4 tires if you wish, but in this case Toyota specifically states that chains should not be used on the front tires of the FJ Cruiser.
