Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. To locate this harness, you will have to pull back some of the trunk liner. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

The installation went exactly according to plan, and the final install looks great. I used a mechanic's creeper and some ramps, which was extremely helpful. The videos on the website were excellent, showing every little detail. I cut an extra hole in the bumper for a 7-way connector, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Instructions were easy to follow. The power wire that is needed ran to the battery. I put it in black split wire loom and hid it and secured it all the way to the battery. Everything looks good and works great.
Shipping, excellent. Packaging was good, the boxing could use 3 reinforcing points. Instructions spot on. Receiver very easy to install. Wiring harness install a little more in-depth. Running the power/ hot wire from battery to receiver while laying on your back, watching for pinch points, chafing areas & exhaust & Ty wrapping is a 2 hr job. Receiver & harness 4 hours start to finish. Watch videos first, save yourself $[XX]-$[XX] dollars by doing a fairly simple install !
The only improvement would be to include 2 weather proof heat shrink butt connectors in place of the 2 standard crimp butt connectors.
Worked great all wires were long enough to work. However an $80 wire harness could have included a fuse in the holder. Inconvenience after install have to go hunt down a fuse

There were no install directions for my vehicle So it appeared not to fit. I talked to Bay at etrailer and he found out it could work but I had to take the rear door apart for it to work so I am returning for refund
This works good on a 2024 KIA Telluride EX with LED rear lights.
Instructions are spot on.
While I have not installed it the connections all appear to be correct. Good instructions. I had an issue with delivery however but no fault of etrailer. The package went from Missouri to Indianapolis, then to Arizona, then back to Ohio then to me in Pennsylvania. Took extra 3 days to arrive.

I installed this wire harness yesterday to my 2025 Telluride and worked perfect and the video was very helpful.

I viewed the video for the C29ZV and it was help full BUT in the video the control box that you run a wire to the battery to is on the driver side were there is all kinds of room were he zipe ties it to the factory harness but the C29ZV harness I got the control box is on the passenger side and you have to mount it above the muffler . that is stupid. All you have to do is make the green wire short and the yellow and brown long and it will work like it is in the video. CHUCK
Excellent video installs easily
Good, except the directions were backwards stating the green wire goes to the drivers side and the yellow wire to the right, but the yellow goes to the driver's side (left) and the green to the right.
