Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2025 Kia Telluride

Hi, I am looking to install a hitch and wiring kit on my 2025 KIA Telluride to tow a pop up camper. I understand the hitch part but am confused about the wiring. All of the wiring says for a 4 pin but the pop up is a 7 pin. Also, do you know how I can tell on the Telluride if I need a brake controller or if its already equipped? I appreciate your time. Thanks.

Hey Stephen, thanks for reaching out!
For your setup I recommend picking up the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e45ZR and using the Curt T-Connector wiring kit for the basic 4-Way wiring. You'll need part # C93FV if you have an LX or S, OR the part # C29ZV if your 2025 Kia Telluride is a different model.
To get you to the 7-Way, you'll need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This gives you everything you need for a fully-functional 7-Way.
You likely don't need a brake controller for a popup camper, but the best way to verify this is to see if you have an idler hub like # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K or a hub and drum like # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. The hub and drum means your trailer has brakes.

Hi Jon, Thanks for all of the great information. My popup does have brakes and I already have a brake controller that I bought from etrailer for my 2015 GMc Yukon. It’s a tekonsha primus 10. Can I use that in the new telluride or should I get the wireless brake controller that I saw in one of the videos?
