Features to know about

Stop the Sag and Squat: 6,000-lb Rear Suspension Support

Heavy trailers, campers, or bed loads can drag down the back of your vehicle and throw off steering and braking. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds 6,000 lbs of load support with hollow rubber springs that sit above the rear axle. As the weight increases, the springs become more rigid to keep your ride level and stable. You’ll feel the difference right away—your truck stays steady under load without sagging or bottoming out.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Progressive Rubber Springs That Absorb Shock

Each Aeon hollow rubber spring is designed to absorb bumps and rough terrain so your ride feels controlled even when loaded. The convoluted design collapses progressively as weight increases, stiffening to handle heavy loads while cushioning lighter ones. Road shock is absorbed before it reaches the cab, cutting down bounce and harsh hits whether you’re towing or hauling gear.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When you swerve, tackle curves, or drive through crosswinds, each Timbren spring works independently to support its side of the vehicle. This helps reduce body roll and sway so your setup stays planted through corners or uneven terrain. It also helps calm trailer sway since less movement transfers between vehicle and trailer.

Install It Once and Get to Work: No-Drill Mounting Above the Axle

The system includes two hollow rubber springs with vehicle-specific brackets and hardware that replace the factory bump stops on the frame. There’s no drilling required, and installation is straightforward with common tools. Once in place, there’s no air pressure to check or adjustments to make—just reliable support every time you load up or hitch a trailer.

by:

Work fine. Seems to alleviate some sag in the rear when towing travel trailer.

by:

The Etrailer video showing how to install these bumpers was very helpful. I had these installed on my 2010 Yukon in about 1 hour. A suggestion to make install easier - after removing the factory bumpers clean the pocket that the bumper presses into and apply a thin coating of dish soap to the leading edge of the new bumper. That will aid in getting the new bumper seated easier.

by:

Very satisfied with the results, and the customer service. The first set were. incorrect. After calling etrailer, they got the correct one right out to me.

by:

Built to last.
Easily installed on my
'08 suburban.
Not sure if they are going to do what I was made to think they'd do.
I believe there will still be a sag in our suburban.
I have my doubts due to the large space between the Timbrens and the axle.
I installed them for a 5,000 mile trip we will be taking next week. We are a family of 6, we will have the suburban packed inside and on top, we will be pulling a 2500+- lbs pop up trailer from eastern PA to Idaho and back.
Also think they are a little salty for the simplicity of the product.
The true test will be on the road.

by:

Recieved the part's in a timely manner and installed them, but they were not has easy to install, has some of the review's said. They were very hard to get set in the cup's square. Pulled a travel trailer with them on and could'nt say there was any improvement's in the handling on a 1500 suburban.

Quick question...how heavy is your travel trailer?

by:

Worth the $. Great product.

by:

A few days before we were were scheduled to leave on our RV trip, we did our usual pre-trip vehicle and trailer inspection. When we hooked up our RV to our vehicle, we noticed it was sagging way more than we thought was safe- and we were not sure if there was a product out there that would help. The etrailer staff had the answers we needed in order to purchase the correct product, which thus far has indeed reduced the sagging.
The service we received from etrailer staff was second to none! When one etrailer staff person didn't know the answer to some of our specific questions, she quickly told us and referred us to another etrailer staff person who she said would call us back. A knowledgeable etrailer staff person did indeed return our call and provided us with the information we needed to place our order-and our call was returned just minutes before the etrailer service office closed! Our order was placed that same day and we received it within a couple of days. Because of this excellent service, we did not have to cancel our trip! Thank you etrailer!

by:

These have been in my older truck for over a year and have been great. Especially helpful when towing … worked flawlessly on our 5800 mile trip across the heartland.

by:

I installed the Timbren Aeon Spring System Vehicle Suspension a year ago. It took about 20 minutes to do the whole installation. I'm really impressed with the overall construction. It didn't negatively impact the ride and I can now put anything I want in the bed of the truck, while hauling a travel trailer, with no concerns.

by:

I could not be more impressed with Timbren Rear Suspension System. I kept blowing out my Monroe Coil-Overs until I got these. They are great addition to my Tahoe and allow me a better, more stable ride. I have gone thru two sets of Monroe's, they are horrible.

by:

Bought these from etrailer finally had them installed by a mechanic. They lasted about a week and worked great but there is now $XXX laying in a ditch somewhere as both have fallen out.

It is unusual to hear that the springs have fallen off.

by:

Turned my Suburban into a true truck. Also added a weight distribution hitch. The combination of the two products doubled my hauling capability and totally stabilized the dump trailer I haul. Heavy loads in soft sand at dirt/sand lots are no problem. I could not be happier.

by:

Shipping was fast and product is high quality but…
They do not fit my vehicle. Two garages and a heavy duty trucking company attempted to install with no luck.

I sent you an email about Timbren. They are excellent at pinpointing the issue and finding a solution.

by:

Bought the timbren rear suspension bump stops to help with rear sag in our 2011 Suburban. We pull a 6000 lb travel trailer. Half way through our 8000 mile trip out west, the automatic leveling system failed. Dealer wanted $xxxx. to fix. Decided to finish the trip Without the repair. No issues. Actually we still haven’t repaired the leveling system and taken two additional trips to Florida and North Carolina. Need I say more. The Timbren stops work great.

by:

Just installed these yesterday. very tight fit but I guess that is the way they are designed. MUCH stronger than the factory version which were very flimsy. Picking up my new 7400 pound travel trailer on Thursday. I am anticipating these are going to make my ride much smoother and safer.
I have used etrailer several times and they have the best customer service I have ever experienced. Great Web Site!!

How did they perform after you picked up your trailer?

by:

My Chevy Avalanche has 68k miles. Because it has coil springs, whenever I hooked my camper trailer to it the back would drop so low that I had to jack up the truck and trailer in order to connect equalizer bars. The original bump stops where cracked and breaking off on the ends. Timbren device went in easily once I lowered the vehicle down with a block of wood.

Find that when I hook up and disconnect I dont have to deal with my truck hitch getting so close to the ground that I have to break out my jack to lift up the equalizing assembly for my trailer. I should have installed the Timbren bump stops years ago.

by:

While I feel I followed the installation instructions to the letter both of my timbrens fell out within a month. I'd pay for professional installation next time.

by:

It was very easy to order, and it arrived very promptly.

by:

Easy to install and they are 100% better than the original stock ones in my truck. Highly recommended.

by:

Caution, these parts did not fit my 2008 Suburban 1500 as advertised. Also FYI, Amazon also says they will fit. After some alterations I got them to finally seat. Tha original bump stops have a groove cut into them about a 1/2" from the top to accept 6 pertrusions that are stamped in the bump stop cup. After several attempts to press the Timbrens into place they wanted to pop out or were very easily removed with little pressure.I ended up cutting in 6 notches with a utility knife. Photos attached. I used markings on the old bump stops to determine spacing. I marked the Timbren with chalk to illustrate approximately where I notched them.Caution, cutting hard rubber with a utility knife is dangerous if you are not used to using a utility knife. I believe Timbren makes a spacer with a groove cut in them. That would make installation a lot easier. I cannot fault etrailer because they probably are following Timbren specks. Also I am not sure all Suburbans of this era have the same bump stop cup. I would recommend checking your old bump stops before ordering. Hope this helps.

by:

It’s a definite improvement over stock equipment. Two trips out west, one with stock and one with Timbren suspension. Gas station pic is with Timbren, mountain background with stock suspension. Suburban handles better now, even without a trailer. Still, it doesn’t handle great with wind gusts, but likely that’s because it’s a cute SUV and isn’t a heavy duty truck.

by:

Good product, good price, quick deliver y.

by:

Good product so far, works as expected on my 2013 Suburban LTZ w/ air ride suspension. A little difficulty installing them... but got them in securely the second try. First time around I was too eager and didn’t clean the cup side on the vehicle well enough so the Timbren didn’t sit in the receiving cup all the way. Second time I cleaned the cup with parts cleaner and wiped with a rag. Next I sprayed white lithium grease On both the receiving side and the Timbren to help it slide into place. Also, on the second time around I installed it initially on a slight angle (see picture) so that when I set the vehicle down with some 2x4s under the Timbren to push it into place it went in level. First time I tried to install them straight in and not on an angle which caused them to get pushed into the cup on an angle. That’s why I had to pull them and try again. Worked like a charm after spending the time to clean everything and grease them.

After installing them the vehicle sits with about 1” of airspace between the Timbren and the axle stop.

by:

09 Surburban and we pull a 30' camper. This system is a game changer. The suspension doesn't bottom out and the tires dont rub on the inner fenders anymore.
This system was extremely easy to install following the instructions in well under an hour.
Even hauling a load of kids and their baggage has an improved ride.
This is the system to upgrade your load carrying capacity at an affordable price.
