Recommended Suspension Helper Springs for 2021 Chevy Tahoe Towing Large Aluminum Boat

Updated 08/26/2025 | Published 02/04/2021

Question:

I have a 2021 Tahoe Z71 and towing a 21’ aluminum boat. The rear ended sag a bit when the boat is hitched. I’ll tow roughly a dozen times a year. What options do you have to keep the vehicle level? Thank you in advance.

I'd recommend the Sumo Springs # CSS-1168 which will increase your coil spring's capacity by 15-30%.

good evening, Mike I also have a 2021 Tahoe Z 71 5.3 L when I click on the link that you suggested in your email states on your website that these do not fit 2021 Tahoe’s. Is this correct, or in actuality the sumo and Timbren do fit the 21 Tahoe?

How Mike, I just wanted to second Scott's reply, and ask if these would be an effective means for extra load support particularly on a 2021 tahoe w/o factory air ride suspension? The site says it does not fit my vehicle?

@Austin We messed that up, the Sumo Spring part number mentioned was NOT a fit. Instead, we recommend using # CSS-1168 which fits between the coils of your springs. They'll increase the coil capacity by 15-30%. I hope that helps!
