Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: Up to 1,000 lbs of Rear Suspension Support

A heavy rear load can make your vehicle sag and throw off steering and braking. These SumoSprings Solo helper springs add up to 1,000 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to help keep your ride level and stable. They work alongside your factory suspension to handle the extra weight, so your vehicle stays balanced and your headlights stay aimed where they should.

Smooth Out the Ride: Progressive Load Control

Every load rides differently, but these microcellular urethane springs adjust automatically. With lighter loads, they compress easily for softer engagement and a comfortable ride over bumps. As weight increases, they compress by as much as 80 percent to deliver firm support that reduces sway and bottoming out. The result is smooth control whether you’re hauling light gear or towing something heavy.

Keep Control in Curves and Uneven Loads: Independent Spring Action

When turns or uneven cargo shift weight to one side, each SumoSpring works on its own to balance the load. This independent action helps cut down on body roll and sway so the vehicle feels more planted through curves, crosswinds, or uneven driveways. Off-center loads stay manageable and steering feels more consistent.

Built Tough for Real Conditions: Durable Urethane Construction

These high-density microcellular urethane springs are built to take abuse from rough roads and harsh weather. They resist oils, road salts, and UV damage while performing in temperatures from -25 F to 200 F. With minimal lateral expansion, they compress straight up and down to fit tight spots without rubbing against nearby parts.

Install It Once and Forget It: Simple, Maintenance-Free Design

Installation is straightforward with no drilling required—just replace your existing bump stops with the included jounce-style springs. There’s no air pressure to monitor or lines to run. Once installed, they’re maintenance-free so you can focus on the road instead of the hardware under it.

Seems very robust. Looking forward to towing the trailer in the spring! Relatively easy to install, but thanks to a little [online] search, I was able to install them more easily. The steps for installation did not call for any lubrication of the top of the spring in order to get it into place, but it definitely needed it. I took multiple attempts to try and install them without and they simply wouldn't slip into place. I used a little bit of Simple Green in order to provide the lubrication that they needed to slip into place. It worked on the first attempt. OE bump-stops included in the picture next to the new Sumo Springs.

Haven’t got to pull trailer yet, that’s why I bought them, but compared to the old ones, uh there’s no comparison, looking forward to pulling my trailer without worrying about how trailer is towing and not swaying

George, save where need be, This is the side By side for the Stock OEM bump stop on 2008 GMC Yukon XL

And the Sumo`s.

2011 Chevrolet Suburban
I have installed these on 3 GM products.
1.Great experience on a 2003 Tahoe, this made towing much more enjoyable. Reduced the porpoising of the vehicle driving down a highway. Also the vehicle doesn't drop as much when hooking up the trailer. Much improved towing experience. 5 stars
2. 2011 Suburban LTZ with airsprings. Noticed the difference but not as necessary. I do think it is better on the airsprings though when hooking up as the airsprings don't bottom out without the vehicle running. 5 stars
3. 2007 Escalade Had great difficultly installing. Just could not get them to pop into the socket fully. Wire brushed the sockets with an airtool. The clearance must be smaller, don't know. If this would have been my first install I would not have bought more of these. 1 star

2014 GMC Yukon XL
I have a 2014 Yukon XL Denali and tow a 32ft camper trailer. I bought these helper stops as a cheap option to not have to replace my factory air ride system Not only was the price excellent, but the install was super easy(just use little lube and rubber mallet). I have towed our trailer many times since install and no issues, plus the existing air ride can still help level the load. Very please and would recommend this before expensive suspension upgrades

Its been over a year since I installed the SUMO Springs on our 2004 E450 motorhome. We just got back from a 7500 mile trip out west and I can say these things made all the difference in the world. No worries of bags or lines busting like airbags so they are worry free!!!! I love the SUMO Springs and highly recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their ride.

2002 Chevrolet Suburban
Ok, why didn't I buy these a few years ago?

They have no real impact at all on the ride of the truck unloaded, they go in place of the bump stops (if yours are more than five years old they're probably worthless anyway) and they really, REALLY stop the "squat" with a load on the ball - or in the back.

In addition, being that they take that load right on the frame essentially right where the springs do, there's no batter place to do that in terms of the original suspension and frame design.

I like 'em, assuming they hold up well.

I've ordered twice from this site and they are on it. Instant confirmation upon purchase as well as tracking info. Couldn't ask for a more seemless process.

My Chevy Tahoe does not sag as much when towing since installing these.

Rather difficult install. Not complicated, really, just a pain in the butt. Make sure you clean the housings, where the old ones are, after removal and before you put the new ones in. Really well.

2010 Chevrolet Suburban
The product seemed to work, but it would have been better if the product enguaged sooner instead of simply replacing the existing stop block.

  • Recommended Suspension Support for a 2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali
If your leveler shocks didn't change anything around your rear bump stops, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-204-40. These replace your bump stops and limit the travel of your suspension while cushioning your ride. The SumoSprings item # SSR-204-40 have a 1,000 lbs tongue weight capacity and work off a system called progressive load control. They only engage in proportion to the weight put on the rear of your Yukon. If you're not towing a trailer you won't...

  • Suspension Upgrade for 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ With Auto Leveling
Hey Scott! For your 2012 Chevy Tahoe LTZ I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-204-40. These have a quick and easy installation since they replace the factory bump stops. They will provide you with an additional 1,000 lbs of support to keep you level and help reduce body roll. Unlike the # F4186 these won't require maintenance so you can install and forget them. They also won't have a negative impact on your unloaded ride quality like some other options. If you need...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement For A 2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali
Hi Arman, The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRYS4 are rated for 6,000lbs so they'll definitely help with the sagging, but being as high capacity as they are they'll likely also affect your unloaded ride quality in a negative way. Going with a lower capacity like the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-204-40 (1,000lb load leveling capacity) would help with the sagging without giving you a harsh unloaded ride quality. These springs are a simple swap out of the...

Hello T; the Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs # CSS-1168R cannot be used with the Firestone Coil-Rite # F4186 since they also install in the coil springs. What you can use is the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-204-40 which will replace the factory bump stops and add extra support when you're towing or hauling heavy loads. These will work together with your Firestone bags.

  • What Suspension Enhancement Upgrades do You Have for My 2005 GMC Yukon Denali 1500 XL?
Hello Arman, Your best option is the coil spring bags. For your 2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali you will will want the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs - Rear # AL60769 (these will NOT work if you have the auto leveling option). These will give you a 1,000 pound load leveling capacity. You could pair them with some upgraded bump stops, the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-204-40 would be great! I am sorry, but we do not have any upgraded coils for your...

I spoke with my contact at Super Springs and the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs, # SSR-204-40, will fit on your 2003 GMC Yukon XL with coil springs as long as it is a 1500 model. These springs are designed to replace your factory bump stops. Once you remove your factory bump stops these springs will slide into the bump stop mounting location. The installation instructions are included in the box. I have attached a photo showing how the SumoSprings will look once installed.

  • Air Helper Spring Option for 2018 Chevy Suburban with Auto Leveling Suspension
Per AirLift, their # AL60769 system won't fit 2018 Suburban models equipped with the auto-leveling suspension. SumoSprings offers an option that would work for you, part # SSR-204-40. The SumoSprings would replace the factory jounce bumpers, and would provide 1000 lbs of additional support. The springs help support heavy rear loads to keep your vehicle level, help to absorb bumps and shocks and minimize sway. Unlike air helper springs, the SumoSprings require no maintenance and will never...

  • Will SumoSprings Work in Freezing Temperatures
According to my contact in the Engineering department at SuperSprings the correct SumoSpring fit for a 2015 Suburban 1500 would be # SSR-204-40. According to them, the SumoSprings # SSR-204-40 springs will remain functional down to -25º F. Operating in temperatures below that won't harm anything, but the SumoSprings wouldn't be very pliable at those temperatures so the ride quality would suffer to a degree. I've linked you to a product description video for the # SSR-204-40 SumoSprings.

  • Reducing Rear Suspension Sag on a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe When Connecting To 18 Enclosed Trailer
The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-204-40 are not confirmed fit for your 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The new chassis uses an independent rear suspension which no longer work with their springs. Using a hitch like the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0800 will give you the best results when you tow your 18' enclosed trailer. Adding any after market bump stop/jounce bumper could potentially raise the vehicle 1" because they are longer than the factory bump stop however, they are compatible with the Magneride system. Adding them can potentially effect how the vehicle rides when not towing and how the vehicles built in sensors for the air springs read the level of the vehicle. If the system is adjusted correctly per the instructions included with your hitch, then I recommend adding the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-204-40 which is confirmed to fit your vehicle and offers 1000lbs of load leveling support to get rid of the slight sagging you have. • Determining The Towing Capacity Of A 2003 Chevy Suburban
To know the exact amount your 2003 Chevy Suburban can safely tow you'll need to check the owner's manual or look at the tag in your driver's side door jamb to find your GVWR and GCWR. Your GCWR is the maximum fully loaded weight of your vehicle and trailer combined. This includes passengers, cargo, fuel, etc. If it's rolling down the road on, in, or with your vehicle or trailer, it counts toward the GCWR. This is typically found in the manual or can be looked up online with your VIN....

Although the Timbren # TGMRYS4 would work for you, I'm not certain you'd be happy with the ride quality you'll experience once the suspension of your Suburban compresses and the preload is taken up which is when the helper springs come into play. The Timbrens offer up to 6000 of additional support which is way more than you'll need to offset the tongue weight of your travel trailer.
