Hey guys, Randy here at etrailer.com. Now we get questions all the time about replacement parts and this always seems to be a weak area in RV's, the screen doors and the strikers that hold them closed. Today we're taking a look at the door side catch. So basically, you can see here we've got our screen door and our solid door. The catch right here engages the handle and that's what's going to keep our screen door attached. You see right there the handle just goes in and underneath it.
Now as we open and close our main door, the screen door comes with it Just makes it a little bit easier. And on a nice day, let's say we have the windows open in our RV, we'll pull that down, we can place it behind the other catch here and that's going to act as a screen door for us.Now this isn't the situation we always want to be in and we always really don't want this door to swing each time we open and close this door. So this is where that catch is going to come in handy. Now if yours is broken or damaged, this is probably one of the easiest things to replace on a camper. Basically you're going to have two screws.
These are generally going to use either a Phillips or a square bit. You're going to go in. We just back the screws out. Once we have the screws backed out, we'll take our old one off. We're going to place our new one in.
You can see slightly larger but also more rugged. This appears like it's going to be a little bit more durable than the original one we just took out there. Bring that in. We'll get our screws started and then we just need to fasten those back in. Now, they're two fine screws so you don't want to put a whole lot of torque on them.
And a lot of times you can also use a a Phillips bit on these. Just get them in.All right, that's about it. Now we just want to check the fitment to make sure it's going to go in and latch behind. Yeah, that looks good. So we can pull it down and release it. Now we do have oblong holes there. You can see here on the top. So if we needed to adjust that down a little bit or adjust it up a little bit. You have that range of motion. All in all if this was broken on my door, I would hate for my screen door . me to have to manually open it each time. I'd replace it. It'll take you just a few seconds. It will make camping life a little bit easier.

This part could be sturdier. I wish it were made of aluminum. It has broken twice now. But, as far as ordering from etrailer.com, they are great!

Had to replace a broken latch. I have purchased other items from etrailer and enjoy their service, price, and efficiency. Product worked as intended.
Plastic but sturdy. perfect fit in limited space. securely holds screen door to main door. As usual, etrailer has a huge assortment of products for any kind of trailer. Easy to order online, and as always, fast ship. Prices on all items look to be very competitive, I rarely look anywhere else.
Take your time measure measure be careful to use a short bit go slow finish with the provided screws do not over tighten remember it is thin metal
