Features to know about

Stay Level and Steer Confidently: 1,400-lb Front Suspension Support

When the front end starts to sag under a heavy load, steering and braking can feel off. These SumoSprings Solo helper springs add up to 1,400 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to keep your front end level and steady. They help your factory suspension carry the extra weight so traction and control stay consistent, even with gear or equipment up front.

Smooth Out the Bumps: Progressive Load Control

Rough roads and uneven loads don’t have to mean a harsh ride. These microcellular urethane springs use progressive load control—compressing easily at first for soft engagement with light loads, then firming up as weight increases. The result is smooth contact that cushions bumps and absorbs shock while keeping your ride comfortable no matter what you’re carrying.

Side-by-side comparison of SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs installed, showing one uncompressed and one compressed under load on a vehicle’s front axle.

Stay Stable in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When corners, crosswinds, or uneven ground try to throw you off balance, each spring works on its own to keep its side stable. That independent action helps reduce body roll and sway so your vehicle feels planted through turns and steady on the highway.

Count on Durability That Doesn’t Quit: Maintenance-Free Construction

Built from tough microcellular urethane, these springs resist damage from oils, road salts, and UV rays, performing reliably in temperatures from -25 F to 200 F. They compress vertically with minimal side expansion to fit safely in tight spaces. And since there’s no air pressure to monitor or lines to run, they’re completely maintenance-free once installed.

Install It Once and Get Moving: No-Drill Fit

These custom-fit jounce-style springs install easily without drilling. Once in place, they work alongside your factory suspension to level your ride, minimize sway, and prevent bottoming out—so you can load up with confidence and hit the road without extra hassle.

Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs-SS84PV

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at the SumoSprings Front Axle Solo Custom Helper Springs. Now, these are custom fit for the vehicles that you see there on your screen. I would recommend taking advantage of our Vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer.com. Input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our Fit Guide will let you know if these will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.

So as you, no doubt, know, a heavy front load can cause front-end sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. So what this means is that your front axle is trying to support not only the extra load, but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your rear axle, your rear tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. So SumoSprings are gonna upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improving drive performance and keeping your ride comfortable. These 1,400-pound capacity helper springs are going to provide progressive load control.

And what that means is the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With the lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for a smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle, and the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration. Now, the springs can compress by as much as 80% to support a heavy front load and to help your factory suspension bear up under that load. This is going to even out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your rear tires are making better contact with the road.

A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensure safe head lighting, and it helps minimize sway. The springs also supports your factory suspension, which is going to help prevent sagging and reduce bottoming out. So the springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn and this also helps compensate for off-center loads. Now, these microcellular urethane springs are tough.

They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well and temperatures ranging from negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. So these springs compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides. So they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they're going to fit safely in tighter spots. And unlike air springs, these SumoSprings are going to require no maintenance or adjustment. These Jounce-style springs are made here in the USA and they are custom designed to fit your vehicle and they're going to install easily, no drillings required. And as you can see, it comes with the necessary hardware to install these. An instruction sheet is included to walk you through the installation process. And again, I mentioned earlier that the weight capacity at 50% compression is 1,400 pounds. However, these springs will not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity, so you do not want to exceed your manufacturer's recommended weight limit. These do have a limited lifetime warranty. And that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Very easy to install. I have not put very many miles on Rv but have noticed that there is much less swaying when going over uneven driveways. After installing these and and safe t plus steering it drives a lot better.

Installation in a 2022 Sierra 2500HD was easy, used large Channel locks to remove factory, new ones popped in by blocking them with wood wedge while vehicle was jacked up and releasing jack quickly so all weight would come down at once.
Only have aprox 100 miles on new Bump Stops but ride feels smoother as they are engaged at rest, unlike factory that engage on bumps. Need more miles to fully review.

Sumo Springs really helped with the bumps in the front of the 2019 Ford E350 Winnebago! Very happy with them. Super easy install even though a bit awkward to reach the spot.

by:

Very easy installation. Would be nice if they were about 2” longer to get contact sooner but they were a good replacement for the hollow stock bump stops.

by:

Super easy to install maybe 30 minutes for all 4
Fronts were done from above with wheel turned full right or left and load off that side with jack, rears jack to take off load only used large flat head screw drive to remove replace
improved side to side roll/sway ride is firmer went with the black capacity maybe yellow on rear if loads increase

these look like the perfect thing for my tired old helper springs, I put SumoSprings on my rear axel of my Jeep a year ago and the have made that ride much better hoping for the same with these.

Installed Sumo Springs on my 2019 Chevy 4500 motorhome, I was looking for ride improvement without breaking the bank. These days so many products are marketed well but never match the performance that was promised. That is not the case with Sumo Springs!!! I am very pleased with the ride improvement, sway is gone when transitioning from different levels of pavement and the shock of bumps is 50% better!! Installed myself on front and back in about 1 hour, front ended up about 3/8” higher after a couple days, got front end alignment done but didn’t need any adjustment. Finished a 400 mile road day today and my wife and I are very pleased. Excellent product!!

I’ve made several purchases from eTrailer and have been satisfied every time! Recently bought front and rear Sumo helper springs. Installation was a breeze. They have helped reduce the side to side sway caused by wind, freeway traffic and rough roads. So far im very happy with them.

by:

What most new RV owners don't know is that the chassis that their new mobile home sits on barely has the equipment to support that new home. Adding SumpSprings is going to improve your ride and help support the structure of your home. FYI, use a jack on the leaf springs to help align the holes on the bracket to the ones on the frame.

by:

Installed front Sumosprings yesterday but have not driven vehicle yet. The front have full contact with the A-frames.
Should help with van side-to-side sway.
Shopping around for a set to install on the rear as well.

by:

Product is great, exceeded my expectations. Install is simple and straightforward. It’s a night and day difference in both the body roll and the handling small bumps all the way up to off-road conditions.

by:

I have a Workhorse W22 chassis. I installed steering dampeners and HD sway bar to reduce the "loose" steering. After installing the SumoSprings Front Spring helpers on the front end, 90% of the looseness on the front end disappeared. It is now a pleasure to drive. Very little sway from passing trucks and cross winds. I will be installing a set on the rear this year.

Really glad to hear that, Omar! What are these helping you carry or tow?

Springs are good, working well. My Tacoma is stock (no lift). With the front end jacked up and wheel/tires totally suspended I was not able to get the springs mounted. I had to cut off about 1/4 inch of threads to get them into position to screw then in. Once that was done everything was ok.
