When towing a trailer or hauling a heavy bed load, rear sag can throw off your steering, braking, and headlight aim. These SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs add up to 1,800 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to keep your ride level and steady. They help your factory suspension carry the load evenly so your front tires stay planted on the road for better control and safer handling when things get heavy.
Every bump and dip feels different when your suspension is under stress. The microcellular urethane springs deliver progressive load control — soft engagement for lighter loads and firm support under heavier ones. They compress as much as 80 percent when needed, cushioning shocks and smoothing out vibrations so you don’t get bounced around while towing or hauling.
When a curve, off-center load, or crosswind tries to push you around, these springs go to work individually on each side. That independent action helps cut down on body roll and sway, keeping your vehicle balanced through turns and uneven ground so it feels planted no matter what’s in the back.
These springs are made from a microcellular urethane that holds up through oil, salt, UV rays, and extreme temperatures from -25 F to 200 F. They compress vertically with minimal side-to-side movement, which keeps them safe from nearby parts even in tight spots. And with no air lines or adjustments needed, they’re completely maintenance-free once installed — just solid rear suspension support every time you load up.
Getting more stability shouldn’t mean spending all weekend under the truck. This kit bolts on with simple hardware — no drilling required. With two jounce-style springs, spacers, and mounting hardware included, you can add dependable rear suspension support without any special tools or air systems to manage.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for your rear axle. Now folks, these are a custom fit application. Looks like they're gonna fit the Toyota pickups. The PreRunners, regular Tacomas, the T100s, and the 4Runners.
So different years, different models, those kind of things. Make sure you're double checking your specific needs on our fit guide here at etrailer.com's homepage, where it says My Vehicle or Vehicle Information and your things like your make and model, submodels. Make sure you're getting the right parts the first time. Now, these helper springs are gonna upgrade your vehicle's rear suspension for improved driver control and comfort. And what they do is they keep your vehicle level when you're towing or hauling a heavy load.
They help absorb bump shocks, they minimize that sway back and forth. They use what's called progressive load control, meaning these springs are gonna compress according to the weight of your cargo. So lighter load's gonna compress easy, not too much, and give you a soft engagement to help smooth out that ride. Heavier loads, it's gonna compress up to maybe 80% even, to give you support that you need. Now, they also work independently, side to side.
So if you have an off-center load, then it's gonna compensate for that. You're not gonna worry about side rolls and those kind of things around corners. Now, these are just kind of pre-fit together, so keep in mind, you may not use all these long bolts, short bolts, or these spacer blocks that I've gotten here loosely fitting today. You may just use one or none of them, depending on your specific needs. So again, check the instructions that come with it to be sure you're installing these correctly for your specific needs.
Again, you're not gonna use all the hardware for every vehicle. Now, this is a nice, durable microcellular urethane construction. It works impressively at negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit, all the way up to a nice, balmy 200 degrees Fahrenheit. This is gonna resist damage caused by oils, road salt, and UV rays, and they're gonna let you have minimal lateral expansion, meaning the springs compress vertically instead of off to the side. So they're not gonna be easily damaged when operating in tight spaces when they're installed. Now, the nice thing about these kind of helper springs is there's no air lines, there's no airbags, no compressor, no extra parts to worry about and to set up every time. It's a one and done. It's a simple no-drill installation, everything bolts right in place on the vehicle. The weight capacity at 50% compression is 1800 pounds. Well, that's gonna wrap it up, folks. I'm Steven. Cant believe its been a year since I installed the SumoSprings. Every time I go around a corner I so appreciate the excellent handling I now have. The Sumos have earned their 5th STAR!
