1,800-lb Capacity. Loading up your truck shouldn't make you dread the drive. These air bags keep you level and in control when packing for weekend adventures. It's a smart way to take the stress out of hauling and enjoy the drive again.
Loading up your vehicle shouldn't lead to sloppy steering, sketchy braking, or poorly aimed headlights. But factory suspension can only do so much before heavy loads start dragging everything down. Pacbrake's Alpha SD air springs add up to 1,800 lbs of load support to your rear axle, keeping your stance level and your handling sharp. That means better traction, safer braking, and headlights that stay aimed where they belong, especially important when hauling at night or in rough weather. If you're moving work gear, towing a small trailer, or packing for a weekend trip, you'll feel the difference in every mile you drive.
No two hauls are the same, and your suspension shouldn't be stuck in a one-size-fits-all setup. With simple manual inflation, you can dial in air pressure from 10 psi for empty cruising, to 100 psi when the bed is loaded or the trailer is hitched. It's a fast, flexible way to get your truck back to level without guessing or settling for a rough ride.
Heavy loads demand extra support, but when the weight comes off, you still want your truck to drive like a truck, not like a brick. Thanks to the smart sleeve-style air spring design, you can safely lower pressure down to 10 psi when unloaded without losing control or beating yourself up on rough pavement. That means a smooth, predictable ride whether your bed is stacked with cargo or empty and ready for weekend cruising.
No one buys an air bag kit to waste a weekend wrenching. This system bolts up cleanly with laser-cut, powder-coated steel brackets that mount to factory points. Mounting hardware resists corrosion, and everything you need - lines, fittings, valves, and detailed instructions - is in the box. Rain, mud, freezing cold, heavy hauls, this kit handles it all. With rugged air springs, corrosion-resistant parts, and a lifetime warranty to back it up, you're not just leveling your load, you're getting peace of mind that your truck's ready for anything. Thinking about onboard air down the road? With standard ports and fittings already in place, the foundation is built in, making it easy to expand when you're ready.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the PacBrake Alpha SD Airbag Suspension Kit for your rear axle. Has an 1800 pound load leveling capacity. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1995 to 2004 Toyota Tacoma four wheel drive trucks. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application.
Now, loading up your Tacoma shouldn't lead to sloppy steering, sketchy braking, or poorly aimed headlights, but the factory suspension on your truck can only do so much before the heavy loads start dragging everything down. So this Alpha SD Air Spring kit's gonna add up to about 1800 pounds of load support to your rear axle, keeping your stance level and your handling sharp. So it's gonna mean better traction, safer braking, and headlights that are gonna stay aimed where they belong, which is especially important when you're hauling at night or in rough weather. And if you're moving work gear, towing a small trailer, or packing for a weekend trip, you're gonna feel the difference in every mile you drive. This kit will include everything shown here on the table.
It includes the Alpha SD sleeve style air springs for the rear axle, the precision laser cut, powder coated steel mounting brackets, grade five plated hardware, the air lines with the manual inflation valves, and right up here we installed the push to connect fittings for your air lines. Also comes with all the mounting accessories you need and installation instructions. Now no two hauls are exactly the same, and your suspension shouldn't be stuck in a one size fits all setup. So if you just use simple manual inflation, you could dial an air pressure from 10 PSI, for empty cruising, all the way up to 100 PSI when the bed's loaded or a trailer's hitched up. So it's a nice, fast, flexible way to get your truck back to level without guessing or settling for a rough ride.
And when your cargo changes, your truck will adapt. No tools, no sharp visit, no shop visit, just a smart, simple control you could handle yourself. Now, I wanted to zoom in and show you, these are the smart sleeve style air spring designs, so you can safely lower the air pressure down to 10 PSI when you're unloaded without losing control or beating yourself up on rough pavement. That'll mean a nice, smooth, predictable ride whether your bed's stacked with cargo or empty and ready for a weekend cruising. No constant adjusting.
No clunky ride, just consistent comfort and control. Now this system will bolt up cleanly with your laser cut, powder coated steel brackets that'll mount to factory points. The mounting hardware will resist corrosion and everything you need, as we mentioned, lines, fittings, valves, all the instructions will be in the box. And also if you're thinking about onboard air down the road, these bags are built to grow with your setup. Just add a compressor when you're ready. One note, I do wanna mention, airbags will not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. So you do wanna make sure to not exceed your manufacturer's recommended weight limit. But that's gonna do it for a look at the PacBrake Alpha SD Airbag Suspension Kit for your rear axle.
The air bags seem to work well. The installation was tricky and I wouldn’t recommend it for the amateur.
Easy installation. Instructions are pretty simple. Be sure to follow torque specs. Add a little thread seal tape to your 90 swivel fitting to prevent leaks. The heat shield was not necessary for my year model(2024),since there was plenty of space between the air bags and the exhaust. Instead of drilling holes under license plate, I just used the screw hole for my license plate for schrader valves. Just drilled out the license plate holes out and little placed through. No more bouncing or suspension sag. Recommended!
Bolted right into place, GMC Canyon. No installation issues or hang up’s. Whole thing Might have taken about 3 hours. Pumped em’ up and have been driving for a week, no leaks no issues. I recommend!
This Pacbrake kit is excellent, reason for the 4 star is because the instructions are not exactly accurate but one can figure it out and the self tappers are not the 8mm as described but 10mm, this is an issue when using a tap to thread the holes because the the bolts will not self thread into the pre-drilled holes. The ride with 14 psi has improved the handling and when i throw a few hundred pounds in the box the truck doesn't squat. exactly how i want it.
Purchased for 2024 GMC Canyon Elevation trim 4x4. Needed to take out the 2-in drop from my travel trailer hitch weight of 400 lb.
Ordered on E-Trailer which sent the order to their supplier who took 4 days from the time they received it to actually ship it. This meant it burned past the originally stated delivery date by 3 days.
Once it arrived all the parts were there. Everything was labeled, packaged up and included instruction sheets.
Install went fine with two issues:
1. The included self-tapping bolts for mounting the upper portion to the frame would not self-tap into the existing holes. I had to use a tap to put the threads into the hole.
2. I tested the air valve with the shock out of the vehicle (probably shouldn't have) which expanded it to full height, which meant when I compressed it for installation it was crumpled and folded onto itself and not the way it was supposed to be sleaved. This issue was solved after I increased the air to 90 PSI and put a trailer load of 400 pounds on the hitch. While releasing air the sleeve compressed back into proper shape.
I love that they included the cutter for the air hoses which made it easy. No leaks.
Ride while towing was the same as before (great) without the rear drop and nose high lights. Driving with no load and the minimum 10 psi didn't give any noticeable bounce or increased stiffness.
