Chevrolet Tahoe

Hitch is great. Only issue I have with it is it slightly point down so my Kuate bike attachment looks like it’s sagging from a side view. Other than that easy install good quality. May add washers to the front and middle bolts to try and level it out. Also maybe opening of hitch is slightly larger. Mounted on my Tahoe no sag looks level.

The installation went better than I thought it would, but only after I also viewed the installation video on etrailer.com for the Draw-Tite hitch. I was alone so the install took a little longer, ~1.5 hrs. I’m grateful God gave me the idea to use close pins (see pics) to keep the carriage bolts from accidentally pushing back up into the uni-body as I lifted the hitch off my chest and into position.

Just purchased on sale !! Waited and was glad. It came with everything I needed accept the wiring for lights. Installed & torqued bolts & red lick tight in 25 minutes. Super easy. My Curt hitch went on with no trouble at all. Fishing the bolts was a little difficult, not with the hitch but with my Escape, some idiot at the Ford factory filled the end of the frame that I had to pull the bolts thru with foam half full. The hitch is solid and fit perfectly on my car. Great price, Thanks

2004 Ford Escape

This heavy duty Curt hitch fit perfectly on my 2004 Ford Escape. Great price for a quality product that shipped out on time for free. I installed it myself after watching others do it on Youtube. The included instructions could be much better but watching the videos saved me. Also having some extra help lift and hold the hitch in place to bolt it on would be nice. Be careful not to push and lose the loose bolts back up into the frame when attempting to mount the hitch. I prevented this by wrapping a thin wire around the top of each bolt stem to prevent them from going back up into the frame. Once the nuts were attached I simply pulled the wires off and finished tightening the nuts. I also bought a light wire kit that worked out fine.

Great receiver. Tow our trailer-tri sailboat all the time with it. Install was easy and so well matched it looks professional. Fit and finish top quality.
Highly recommend this to anyone with basic mechanical skills, a couple hours sparw time and the desire to save hundreds over pro install.

Trailer hitches are vehicle specific so if you're needing a hitch for your 2004 Ford Escape you will need to get one that was designed for your vehicle. Any adapter like the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # 80303 is going to reduce your capacity by 50%. At 175 lbs of tongue weight you're already unable to carry the YZ125 at 195 lbs. You also have to consider the 50 lbs from the weight of the # UF48-979033. To make this work you will need to remove the existing hitch and install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13506. This will allow you to handle the weight of the bike and rack without the need for an adapter.
