When a trailer or heavy bed load makes the rear end sag, these SumoSprings helper springs step in with up to 1,800 lbs of support at 50-percent compression. The microcellular urethane material helps your factory suspension bear the load so your steering, braking, and headlight aim stay steady. The springs compress as much as 80 percent when the weight stacks up, keeping your ride level and confident without bottoming out.

Every road and load is different. These springs use progressive load control so they compress easily at first for soft engagement over small bumps, then firm up as the weight increases. That means a smoother ride when lightly loaded and solid stability when the bed or hitch is packed full. They also act like shock absorbers, damping road vibration and reducing harsh rebounds for a more comfortable drive.
Each spring works on its own to support its side of the vehicle. This independent action helps cut down body roll in sharp turns and keeps things level with off-center loads. Whether you’re hauling uneven cargo or cornering through gusty mountain passes, the truck feels planted instead of rocking side to side.
These helper springs are made from tough microcellular urethane that resists oil, road salt, UV rays, and abrasion. They perform reliably in temperatures from -25?°F to 200?°F and compress vertically with minimal side expansion so nearby parts stay safe even in tight spots. With no air lines or pressure to monitor, they stay maintenance-free mile after mile.
Adding rear suspension support doesn’t have to be complicated. These custom-fit springs mount with included spacers and hardware using a simple bolt-on design—no drilling required. Once installed, you’ve got a clean setup that’s always ready to handle heavy loads without extra upkeep or adjustments.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our SumoSprings Custom Helper Spring Set for the rear axle. Now, folks, these are a custom-fit application, so I want you to double-check the Fit Guide here at etrailer.com on our homepage where it says My Vehicle Information, enter things like year, make and model. Make sure you're getting the right parts for your vehicle. Keep in mind, sometimes vehicle's fits could change and the videos could be outdated and it could fit newer year models possibly.
And that being said, these Helper Springs are gonna upgrade your vehicle's rear suspension and give you improved driver control and comfort. What they're gonna do basically is keep your vehicle level when you're towing or hauling a heavy load. They're also gonna help absorb bumps and shocks, and minimize that back-and-forth sway. Now, they use progressive load control, which means these springs will compress according to the weight of the cargo, so for lighter loads, they're gonna compress very easy at first for soft engagement and give you a less bumpy ride, and then when you get super-heavy loads, they're gonna compress a lot more, maybe up to 80% all the way down for support. Now, they work independently from one side to one side, so they're gonna compensate for those off-center loads and reduce body roll during sharp turns.
They are built on a nice, durable microcellular urethane. They work in temperatures from negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, these will resist damage caused by oils, road salts, and UV rays. They have minimal lateral expansion, and the springs compressed vertically instead of the sides of 'em so that they're not gonna be easily damaged while operating in tight spaces. And these simply bolt on top.
There's a set screw that comes with each one. Very simple install. They're maintenance-free. There's no air tubes to run, like the air pressure monitor systems, those kind of things. It's a simple one-time install.
You don't have to do any drilling or anything like that. Now, the weight capacity at 50% compression is 1,800 pounds. Now, keep in mind before we go here, adding something like these SumoSprings is not gonna increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. So, if your vehicle's rated at, let's say, I don't know, 10,000 pounds, these aren't gonna add 1,800 pounds or 3,000 pounds or anything like that, they're just gonna help compensate for that load that's in there and keep your ride height where it needs to be. Well, folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look together today. I'm Steven, thank you for watching, and as always, stay safe while you're towing.

Definitely less moving parts to worry about than airbags :) The install looks great! Are you hitched up in the photo to test out the springs or were you actually on your way to the water?
