Replaces 1 upright tube for CE Smith bunk-style guide-ons for boat trailers (CE27620, CE27670, and CE27740). Lance prevents rotation of PVC posts. Mounting hardware (CE11452-A) sold separately.

This pre-galvanized steel support post mounts horizontally on top of or below your trailer's frame rail. Just slide the post into the boat guide support and secure the post so that the distance between the trailer bunks correctly matches the width of your boat.
This upright is designed with a lance to prevent rotation of your PVC post.
Pre-Galvanized Steel
Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating (less than 1 mil) and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so it's recommended that they be primed and painted.

After the old one got hit by a car traveling the opposite side, ordered a replacement from etrailer still looks like the day I received it.

I ordered these supports because the original ones rusted out after about six years. These fit in the existing brackets well. I gave them an extra coating of cold galvanizing compound-hopefully they will last several years before they rust out! First picture is an old rusted support. Second are the new supports which I painted both on the inside and outside. Third pic is the newly mounted bracket.
Nice solid supports but they NEED to be painted or coated to last more than a year in salt water. Here is the recommendation from etrailer. As most boat trailers are either painted or galvanized you can paint the upright to match. You can use a cold galvanized spray paint to build up the coating and provide adequate protection. Otherwise you can use a self etching primer and spray enamel paint to properly bond and adhere to the surface."

The only modification I would recommend is drilling a small hole at the 90 degree angle to enable rainwater to drain preventing rust through which caused failure of my originals.Excellent company.

This was the only place I could find this part as an individual item. Everywhere else I looked you had to buy the uprights bundled with the guide posts.

Both products shipped fast, was as expected and the little anti-rotate tabs are a great idea. The pipe caps were a plus. This was bought because it is hard to see the trailer, from a Ram 1500, with the gate up when the boat is off and in the water. It was easy to install and locked down without any trouble. With the use of two 5ft pieces of PVC pipe the final cost was a lot better than a complete kit.
Even when painted with cold Galvanize paint these uprights seem to last only 1 year, two at best. I do use them in salt water but rinse with fresh water after every use. There must be a better alternative even if more expensive.
My trailer is a float-on and is submerged in salt water once or twice a week during the season. Due to this the guide bracket rusts out in 2 or 3 years. I only need the bracket as my trailer is made to accept the bracket in a holder. In the past I had to buy a kit which included the brackets, mounting u-bolts (which I do not need) and plastic pipe (which is too short and I can not use).
It was great to get only the bracket and not all the other things I just throw away!!
Misleading and unresponsive. The description say “Glide-Ons” but this in not plural, it’s singular. It shows 1, so this is partly my fault. When I received the 1 guide post after a week, I was very disappointed. I contacted etrailer to order another one. I asked if because of the confusion caused by their description they would not recharge the 6.99 shipping. They just said NO. Never willing to acknowledge how their product description COULD cause confusion. Very disappointing to have such a great company and products, with such poor customer service. Should have shopped local??
