MB Sturgis Propane Fittings - 100833-15

  • Hoses
  • Pigtail Hoses
  • 1/4 Inch - MIF
  • Type 1 - Female
  • MB Sturgis

Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator on your trailer. Check valve prevents backflow leakage and is suitable for dual-tank setups. Stainless Steel overbraiding protects hose from damage.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male Inverted flare connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Stainless steel overbraid protects the hose from damage
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 15" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Type 1 tank connection
    • 1/4" Male inverted flare
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

Valve and hoses fit perfectly, easy to install, worked as advertised. Decent price and good c ustomer service at etrailer.

Made in USA! My SAE wrenches fit (7/16"). Looks great and doesn't leak. Worth a few bucks more than the Chinese junk sold elsewhere.

works great but im stationary permanently an dont use a lot of propane alot better than the short thick rubber hose that came on my trailer

by:

These are exactly what we needed to replace the pigtails on our camper. The rubber on the outside of the original ones cracked after only two years; the stainless overbraid we replaced them with will, we are certain, give us many years of use.

by:

Looks right to me

by:

The pigtails works just as expected & I like them very much. These 2 are to replace the previous ones (same part #) less than a year old & both leaking from the same joint just a couple of months apart. The only gripe is the remarkably short manufactures warranty period, & this particular issue is a known manufacturing defect which I'm sure the manufacture has addressed. These new parts come from their new inventory.
The customer service from etrailer has been outstanding & Kaylyn was a delight in resolving my difficulty. The new parts came very quickly.

Id like to say Im pleased but Im not. They look well made & durable again, not. Ive had 5 of these in the last 2 or so years & they all develop significant leaks at one or both crimps within a year of purchase. Im an AC contractor & know the gas world - this is Not OK. etrailer helped me find another brand, JR Products Camco was not available in my size range They look to be a pliable material with clean crimps & I expect they will last a long time, like the ones on all my other propane equipment. I should say most other equipment. I have one grill that came with a braided Sturgis hose, & it too developed the same leak pattern a few years ago. From what I see when disassembling the leaky fittings, the thin plastic hose material under the braining looses its resilience & yields to the constant unregulated pressure. The thicker rubber-like hoses dont, sun exposure or not.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for to get the propane hooked up for our new range in our home in the mountains. Not a cheap china one and the made in USA quality shows. Would recommend to anyone needing a new or replacement pigtail.
Also a big shout out to etrailer that got the pigtails sent to us incredibly fast. Always a pleasure doing business with etrailer!!

I was excited to get a product USA made but unfortunately it developed a leak, lost a 30lb tank of propane as a result. Even though MG Sturgis website says they have a one year warranty, etrailer would not honor it, their customer service just told me there was no warranty on the part when I reached out to them. Contacted MB Sturgis and they sent me a new one for the cost of shipping but am disappointed that not only the US made part failed but that etrailer was a major fail in their customer support. Will most likely be shopping elsewhere in the future.

by:

They seem ok. I did have one go bad. The safety valve on the tank end of the hose went bad. You couldn't turn on the gas slow enough that it wouldn't snap shut. I have 10 hoses total on my 5 pieces equipment.

by:

The regulator end fitting doesn't allow for immediate installation into my propane tank selector. I still haven't found the adaptor piece and have yet to be able to install this after a year since purchase. At this time the unit is in storage for the winter or I would provide a photograph of the complication. Thanks for asking me for the review.

The adapter you will need is MB sturgis propane adapter fitting with backcheck part # 204120-MBS. I have attached a link below.

by:

These hoses seem fine. I had an older hose that the overflow safety valve wouldn't let any gas at all pass through it. Nothing to do but replace it.

by:

I received the hose promptly. So far it fit and it works. Be sure to check for leaks after you hand tighten. I had to use a wrench for an extra 1/4 turn. The green connector feels very durable and sturdy. For the price, even with shipping, you will not be dissapointed.

I havent had any issues.

Great service & speed of delivery. Removed & installed in about 20 minutes. I have order several items and the service & price has always been great.

by:

Hi, I have bought this hose from several other companies and when I get them it has a tag saying Mr Heater. It seemed Mr Heater is a supplier for many other companies, well they never worked. This hose allows more gas before going into bypass mode. So my gas heater and gas refrigerator and gas stove can all work at the same time, or I can just use one of these without any problems. Plus this hose has a steel braiding around it so it cant get cut or worn from rubbing on sharp edges. And the best thing about it is the price is so low. We live in our RV full time and this hose will last for as long as the trailer. It's too bad they don't use a hose of this high quality when they made the trailers. And Etrailer.com shipped it out right away. I will only buy my trailer supplies from etrailer.com from now on, they only sell higher quality parts and at a fair and low price.

by:

These hoses and fittings are far superior to the stock hoses originally installed on my 5th wheel propane tanks. Much more peace of mind sleeping above the propane storage bay now. Upgrade before a problem.

by:

The order was placed in October of 2021, and due to supply chain issues delayed by the regulator. They gave me regular updates on expected dates from the mfg.... When all the parts arrived in August of 2022 they honored the prices quoted when the order was originally placed....no price increase to current prices!!! That is what I call top shelf respect for the customer.

by:

I have the standard pigtails that came with our Grand Design Travel Trailer. After only 1-year one of the pigtails began to leak at the fitting where the hose is crimped on. Decided to upgrade to stainless pigtails that were a couple of inches longer than what came with the trailer. Hoping these perform well. The local RV repair facility wanted upwards of $25.00 each for a standard non-stainless pigtail and 1-hour of labor at $130.00 / hour to install.

by:

Great communication from etrailer.com. The one hose was not available and I was immediately notified and asked if something could be substituted. I was contacted by email and cell phone. Very impressive! The hose was only a week delayed. The shipping material was very adequate and the hoses look as described. I will purchase from etrailer again. Thank you.

by:

I've always had good luck with your products over the last couple of years. My holes on my RV propane regulator were bigger diameter than the pigtails that I ordered, so I had to go to the local hardware store and buy a brass adapter to make it fit. Otherwise everything is okay...…….

by:

Great quality hose. Should last many years. Pricing and shipping all excellent.

by:

these went on easily and quickly, used pipe goop to seal the threaded ends. Old ones on my RV trailer were leaking gas due to loose clamps on rubber hose. I prefer stainless overbraid to rubber and the older rubber ones were about 7 years old and needed to be changed anyway.

by:

I bought new hoses and regulator for my 20 year old travel trailer when I smelled propane and everything was tight. Pretty good indication. The installation was simple, the items high quality, and I feel much safer.

by:

We needed to connect dual tanks at our ADU and these are the perfect solution. But almost better than the great products is the care and attention our small order received. Items were on backorder and they continued to be in contact with us concerning when to expect them. We would order again from them in a heartbeat!

by:

So far so good. That is why I bought braided pigtails. However, in the past it was the swage fittings on the Acme ends that leaked. We will se.

by:

The items came promptly and were packaged extremely well, I cannot install them as its too cold here as yet but I did get to try out and set up the remote brake controller and it seem like it will work fine, if I do have any problems I'm sure your staff will make things right. So far its a pleasure doing business with you!

by:

Even thought my order was damaged in shipping and parts were lost by shipper. etrailer stepped up and got me replacement parts at no cost to me off and I am now ready to do the repair of my RV. Thank You all

  • Pigtail Hose for Use with Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator CAM59005
In general it is best to use the shortest suitable length of hose for just about any propane application since a shorter hose means less potential for pressure loss. To connect two tanks to the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59005 you could use a pigtail as short as the 15-inch MB Sturgis # 100833-15 or the 3-foot # 100833-36, both shown on the linked page.
