This JXC A-frame trailer jack features a manual hand crank, but can also be powered by any 18-volt to 24-volt compact drill when using the included attachment. Great for boat or cargo trailers. Comes with footplate.

A trailer jack is designed to lift the tongue of your trailer so you can connect the trailer coupler to your hitch ball. To do this, you'll need a jack with a lift capacity high enough to handle your trailer's tongue weight.
Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 1,500 lbs.
It's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher lift capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time camping.
Every jack offers a certain amount of lift or travel. Screw travel is the distance the jack extends when you crank it (or toggle it to "extend" on an electric model). Some jacks include a drop leg for extra adjustability. On these jacks, you'll see the maximum extension of the drop leg listed in the specs as well. Adding the screw travel and drop leg travel together will give you the total lift. The total lift listed above can help you determine how high this jack will be able to raise your trailer.

This jack appears to be a perfect replacement for the one that failed. The mounting plate has holes that allow for multiple mounting hole patterns and the drill attachment works flawlessly! So far I’m very pleased with it! I’m using it on my 20’ car hauler trailer and it only took about 15 minutes to change it out!
Very high quality jack. I had put an A-frame tool box on the tongue of my trailer. And the jack set back from normal location from ball hitch so I could drop tailgate without hitting the jack. So I was limited on how tall jack could be so it wouldn’t be in the way of tool box latch. Fit perfect, love the removable crank handle and socket to use with power drill. I will need to remove grease fitting and put a right angle grease fitting in. But that’s not a problem.
I put this on a 1992 basscat trailer. Even with all the slots, it still wouldn't line up with the existing holes so I had to drill two new ones. It also doesn't come with nuts, not that the bolts are long enough for that anyway. Intended to be screwed into threaded holes on the trailer? I just used the bolts from the old jack. Also had to file the center hole to get the clearance for this jack. So installation was a bit tricky, but otherwise it looks great and feels stout
We got this to replace an electric jack that stopped working on our travel trailer. This is PERFECT! It took all of about ten minutes to install and only ten seconds to lower it with a cordless drill! This is SO much better and lighter than the "smart" jack we removed (last photo). Just got this jack. So far it is excellent. Fast, strong and easy to install. I put it on my boat trailer and will follow up with another review in 2 or 3 months to see if it holds up. Right now i give it 5 stars.

I wanted something other than a hand crank lift for my 2002 Casita trailer. I was going to by and electric one, then I came across this battery one from etrailer.I ordered it and installed it and it works perfect. I don't really know it's lifting capacity, but for my trailer it's perfect. Since I carry a drill for my stabilizing jacks under the trailer, this made my choice easy. And I didn't have to run wire or splice into the existing wiring of the trailer.

Just received new valet A-frame jack, have not install yet, snowing here in the high country Colorado. I will install it on the next sunny day. I waited for the price to come down, Black Friday, I bought it. Quick delivery, excellent customer service. I open the box and it looks awesome. I own a new Forest river wolf pup and I wanted to upgrade the front jack.
I will put the new Forest River jack on my old lightweight aluminum flatbed trailer which needs a replacement . I would highly recommend this Jack to anybody, I put one on my old Forest river “r- pod”and loved it.
This is been a wonderful jack. I dont use the drill attachment but the smooth operation makes this the perfect jack for your trailer!

Funny thing is I fixed the old one just before this one came in but decided to install it anyways. I am really glad I did....the drill option is totally awesome! The finish on this gives it such a quality feel and look...even the footplate is thicker and has a larger pin that my other one. I really considered electric but since I use a drill for my levelers, this just makes it cool and my drill makes fast work or lowering and raising. While it would be nice if the crank had a 3/4 drive on it, I think it would be difficult to lose the proprietary one that came with it. I put a few rounds of red electrical tape around it to make it easier to see if I drop it in the grass. I like how the crank itself removes so easily too. Really glad I chose this.

Over the past year, we have used the camper well over a dozen times and I have yet to use the crank. My 12 cordless dewalt 18V makes quicks work of lowering and raising. I like that with those off, you get some added security to go along with my ball lock. Would certainly buy this in the future should the need arise.

I am very happy with this tongue jack. I took off my old one and installed this in about 10 minutes. It operates so smoothly and is so nice-looking and the handle very comfortable. It will be nice to use a drill on those 96 degree or 10 degree days when I don't feel like hand cranking. And the removable handle will make it easier to open my tailgate. Delivery was quick too.

One year out? Still love it! Functions beautifully and no rust or deterioration. My trailer is outside year round.
Sturdy products that is simple to install. Easy operation with crank. Drill power option is a valuable option for both aging folks and preventing injury while using the trailer jack
I struggled with a decision to purchase an electric version which I originally had. Now I don't have worries of draining the battery, wiring shorts and relying on the battery to lift. Having drill assist with this model clinched the deal. I haven't used it camping yet but did a few test runs with my truck and it works great. I really like the various mounting holes for positioning the crank. I decided to put the crank directly in the front so I can access from either side of the hitch. Fit and finish seems excellent. I think I'll be happy with my decision.

I just commented to my wife on our last camping trip how happy I was to make the decision to purchase this style of hitch jack from Etrailer. Works so well using my cordless drill and also manually. Since I pack the cordless drill in our trailer for using it our stablizer pads I always have it. And it actually seems to raise and lower the hitch faster than a standard electric jack. It was a great choice.
Easy to install. Works great with a drill. It makes raising and lowering my 22 foot camping trailer much easier and faster. I already have my drill out to lower the stabilizer jacks. If you are tired of cranking but don't want to buy an electric trailer jack this is a great answer. No wiring required.

We just returned from a 6 week trip to National Parks. The trailer jack is still working flawlessly. It had been a great addition. Easy to install and works great with my drill.
I just installed the jack the original Bulldog jack is a year old but I need the space to mount a toolbox to be used for multiple tie-downs. I have a question: I purchase this Trailer Valet JXC Trailer Jack w/ Footplate and Drill Powered Option - A-Frame - Sidewind - 5K
It has a zerk fitting next to the gear box to grease the top of the jack how much grease and how often do you add grease ? Does it grease the top gears and rod and lift nut ?
The Pro Series Round 5,000 lbs. A-Frame Trailer Jack Topwind 15" Lift w/ 6" Steel Caster Wheel & 2" Zinc Footplate Stand has a steel wheel thats rated for 5,000lbs do you have a Steel Wheel for a Trailer Valet 5,000 rated jack ?

You had some good questions and so I reached out to Trailer Valet about greasing the gears. To grease the gears, the gearbox must be opened and grease applied directly. The rod and lift nut will be greased via the grease zerk. It is recommended to grease the jack every three months or so. As for the caster wheels, part # TV89FR will work with these Trailer Valet jacks.

I installed the new Trailer Valet JXC Trailer Jack w Footplate and Drill Powered Option - A-Frame - Sidewind - 5K and removed the 1-year-old bulldog jack. The new Sidewind jack gave me room to install a toolbox for tie-downs and straps that will be used to keep the side-by-side secure on the utility trailer. The sidewinder crank also helped with the location of the toolbox. Was able to move the box forward to access the emergency brake battery box in the original location from the trailer manufacturer. With the toolbox in place was able to add a solar panel to keep the emergency brake battery charged. See the pic as to all of the items that were added to the 22ft trailer.
First off I have to give props to etrailer. They have never let me down and they are my go to. Have ordered many things and not one mess up and the trailer jack is great to. On my set up it took my 16 yr old about 10 minutes to switch out. Brand new trailer so we were working with rusty bolts. I have been using my cordless drill to lift and lower my trailers for years. I normally would just modify the existing jack to work with drill but for the price what the heck. Nice looking has nice size foot. Like the chuck and handle. The only thing that I would change and this has nothing to do with etrailer but the jack itself. I would make where the handle/chuck attaches (nipple) be recessed into the top portion of the unit. This would add a little bit of security (along with coupler lock) to the jack so if the handle is not attached it would not be as easy to put a pipe wrench or jam a socket onto the nipple and lower the tongue on to a receiver. That's just a mod I would make to the jack if I was the manufacturer. Great jack though.

Jack is working working great as it did from day 1. 6 months out of the year that jack is raised and lowered 6 days a week. No complaints yet and dont foresee any either. To follow up on my previous review I havent figured out a way to secure the jack nipple but I have increased the security of the trailer by putting the jack in its lowest position once the coupler lock is installed. Too heavy to pick tongue up by hand and would be cumbersome at best to raise jack leg with a hand tool of some sort and then have to get coupler lock off. Im pretty sure they would move on to and easier target...
Both of my trailer jacks snapped in the cold yesterday. I ordered new jacks, received them the next day and I'm ready to roll
Very helpful. I had to replace the lift on my Hoosiers Hoops basketball goal and the retrofit worked. I had to modify the 3/8 bolt holes to accept a 1/2 bolt but it was releatively easy with my Rototool
I bought 2 of these jacks, one for my 6X10 cargo trailer, the other for my daughter's NuCamp "teardrop" camping trailer. My daughter doesn't have a trailer hitch on her Equinox, and the camper is stored in our garages, so since we pull her trailer with our Traverse when she wants to camp with us, we are the ones (ages 73 & 74) who had to crank on the manual jack. I bought the Trailer Valet jacks to eliminate hand cranking. I have installed and used one of the jacks on my cargo trailer, and it works great! The camper jack I haven't installed yet. The camper has a generator rack over the A-frame which extends almost to the jack post. The jack bracket mounting pad on the new jack is considerably larger than the one which came off the trailer, and the rear part of that jack pad is going to have to be cut off in order to clear the front of the generator rack. This won't be a big problem, but since the camper is only used once or twice a year, I have temporarily delayed that project while I concentrate on other more urgent ones. The jack on the cargo trailer has been a big help, but as others have indicated, when the Trailer Valet jacks reach their limits, they stop immediately. If you have the drill running too fast, it will twist itself out of your hands, & possibly break a wrist or an arm. One "plus" though, is that the jack is "ghost-marked" on the leg, & you can see when it's nearing it's upper limit. Even with my drill on low speed and the trigger barely depressed, when the jack reaches its limit, it really torques my old wrist. So I have the manual handle "at the ready", & when I'm reaching the limit of the jack, I insert the manual crank handle to raise the leg the short distance to its stop. Other than that, I've had no problems with the jack, and I'm well pleased with not having to crank and crank on those manual jacks anymore!!
