Item is fine but having crank system proprietary is silly. This drill attachment costs much more than it is worth but to go without it makes moving the trailer with the trailer valet very difficult for smaller or older people. The drill attachment should part of the basic trailer valet package and the crank shaft should be a standard sized hex shape to use the same size socket, if only for safety reasons for the elderly. 258700

This review will be for not only the Trailer Valet attachment, but for the Trailer Valet as well. The good: works well on cement and with the attachment I don't have to push my boat into my garage (it has a slight incline at the entrance). E-Trailer is excellent for customer support! I had a couple of minor issues and they were really on top of getting me help. The not-so-good: I've heard the Trailer Valet doesn't perform on grass or gravel. The attachment is made specifically for the Trailer Valet and you will not find another socket to work. Too bad the company chose to make extra money ($45) for a $5 part. On the Trailer Valet the bushings needed lubrication after one year because it started grinding. A simple fix but until I raised this issue the company did not have a video on how to do this maintenance. You will have to purchase ring clip pliers for this job. 486197

This adapter is very useful for using a drill to move the trailer. The adapter fits very tightly on the drive hub; I have to force the adapter to fit on the caddy's operating hub and then force the adapter off of the hub. I am not sure how I am going to resolve this situation. 647043

Seems pricey for such a simple piece of hardware but I can't build one for less money. Works well. It is easy for the chuck to come loose while using it. It's a good idea to check the tightness of the chuck several times while using it. 627724

Very poor product...suppose to be drill attachment for Valet....broke second time I used it.....Valet was used in low gear and under no strain....Would never buy product again...look at price of this trash. 625259

I have an extremely narrow area that I cannot back up my boat between the side of my house and fence. My truck cannot make the turn required and it is slightly uphill. With the drill attachment and my 18 volt brush less drill moving the boat into place using the Trailer Valet is an easy task that I could not do without this device. It was the deciding factor that allowed me to purchase the boat. 625608

I've used my Trailer Valet to move my 20' enclosed utility trailer around the driveway. I've also used it to move my 30' camper around, putting planks down on the lawn to run the Valet across. It works good, but is quite a workout with heavy trailers. In confined spaces, there's just no other way to do the job. I would like to have my original Valet adaptable to the newer, "universal ball-mount" style so I wouldn't have to buy a new unit and just set aside the original unit. The new "ball-mount" Valet would greatly simplify using the Valet. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality and operation of my original unit. 596380

This socket is made specific to fit on the trailer valet. I tried all kind of other sockets but they won't fit. $35 is a lot to pay for this but it makes using a hand drill possible. 576563

The product did as it is intended to do. 572541

Make moving the trailer a breeze. The hand crank is OK for short adjustments when hooking up, but using a battery drill is great for longer distances. BE SURE THE BRAKE IS OFF before applying power. 567287

- TVDA
by:

You need a really strong drill to make this attachment work. I have a 20’ ski boat and I thought this attachment would really save my back and arms from turning the crank handle so much. My cordless drill didn’t work at all, even in the strongest setting, and my electric Makita drill only worked when the boat was on a smooth flat surface. With any incline at all, it was not strong enough to move my boat. I don’t recall the product info explaining that you need a certain level of drill power, but maybe it did and I missed it. This problem, combined with it being way over priced, means I will likely return it for a refund. 561132

In my opinion, not necessary as manual cranking works fine and was concerned about control. It fits perfectly and will stay in my toolbox just in case. 555862

Overall, I think this product does an OK job. Being 6'1", it is too low to comfortably turn the handle. I would like to see the whole gear drive system be raised an additional 1 1/2' - 2'. That would put the lower handle position at a height where you can get some power behind each revolution. Turning of the trailer is also quite difficult. Takes quite a bit of effort to get the trailer going the direction you need. This product works OK on flat and level concrete, any bumps or depression in the surface, this produce has a hard time traversing. Too much tire slippage. I think this product would be fine on a very small trailer, but doesn't far so well with mine. Because of these issues I have created my owner electric driven trailer mover. There is room to improve this product. JD 450034

It works great with my Trailer Valet 5x. 440969

- TVDA
by:

Yesterday was my first use, and I was less thrilled than I had anticipated. It came with a couple of faults that will be a long term problem. First, the steering and braking lever has to be held in a hard upright position to work, and even at that the Valet decided to brake/skip the gears whenever it wanted to. Not fun. Additionally, I wasted my money on the drill attachment as my Makita 18V lasted about a minute and overheated. I am pushing a heavy boat but mostly on flat new concrete. I guess I'm stuck with bending over and cranking for the next 10 years. 437342

by:

i love the valet, i could'nt get my camper in a lot of spots without it 432667

- TVDA
by:

You must be very careful using this product. You should have two hands on the drill and a second person holding the steering tiller. My 18 volt drill has enough torque (even in low speed setting) that it will rip the drill out of my hand. I have better luck just hand cranking the dolly which works very well. 428841

- TVDA
by:

Best price I could find, very fast delivery, will certainly shop here again 413656

- TVDA
by:

This drill attachment works well enough, but it should be included with the Trailer Valet at no extra cost. I think it's guaranteed to rust. 401538

- TVDA
by:

The product works as described and seems to be built well. However the price is outrageous. It's basically a socket. It should be $19 at most. Just seems to be a little high for what it is. 391986

- TVDA
by:

Very easy to use and saves a lot of sweat when using the drill over you arm. 378596

- TVDA
by:

Works so well that I use it almost exclusively to move the trailer rather than hand cranking. Just make sure you have a strong drill and battery as it uses a lot of power on the high gear but it moves the trailer faster also! 373813

- TVDA
by:

A little pricey for what it is. Won't be using it until fall but there is no reason it shouldn't work. 371856

- TVDA
by:

The product fits properly and is easy to install. After that it is useless I burnt out two drills trying to get it to work. The initial tork demand of the 5x swivel jack is too much demand on the drill to get it started. No to mention if you pull the trigger on full you run the risk of hurting your wrist. Great concept but I could not get it to work and now I have to replace two drills. 369656

- TVDA
by:

There is not much to be said except this thing works exactly as advertised. It certainly makes parking the trailer much more convenient. 365004

still don't see where this should be 50 bucks,i am a cnc operator know what it takes to make this with heat treat. personally why you don't use a hardened hex shaft on this is beyond me . guess you like ripping people off. we will see how long it takes to strip it out. not a good patent. 359070

This is one fabulous product! It allows me to move my new 19' Ranger bass boat with ease into my garage. The installation was super easy. If you can tighten up 4 bolts you'll have no trouble installing this. It took me 10 minutes. I originally bought the Trailer Valet XL but after using it a few times I determined it would be easier to move my trailer from the side. Etrailer allowed me to return the XL and exchange it for the 5x. Their customer service was the best I've ever experienced. I also purchased the Drill adapter to use with this. Its a little pricey but well worth it as it makes it SO much easier. I'm very pleased with this purchase and with the service I received from ETrailer. 360064

The installation of my Trailer Valet 5X has been simple and quick. However, I had some challenges which I anticipated before I placed the order. I have a 20' travel trailer with a battery case and 2-30 lb propane cylinders on the hitch. Furthermore, there is also a weight distribution hitch and the left end side has a large Virginia Safety Inspection sticker on the hitch that must not be obstructed. With the right hand side being the only place, I had to work out the 4 bolt location of the Trailer Valet bracket on the inside of the hitch to clear the support of the battery and the propane cylinders. The last challenge was the weight distribution bar which was too close to the Trailer Valet bracket. Fortunately, the EQUAL-I-ZER 4 POINT SWAY CONTROL has a tild adjustment that allowes to lower the weight distribution bar where it otherwise would touch the Trailer Valet bracket. Without this adjustment my project would have been ruined. I will send you a picture after my next trip at the End of August when the trailer is hooked up. 279700

Product arrived in a very timely manner. Product is indeed very strong and well made. The use of the online videos sold me on the concept and ease on installation and use. I have used etrailer several times and they have exceeded my expectations on each occasion. I'm very satisfied customer. Watch the videos and be aware that everything you need is included. In addition I purchased TVXL25. Thanks to all. 271901

  • The trailer mover I suggest for your 3500-lb Airstream Sport travel trailer is the Trailer Valet 5X model # STC-V211. This 2-speed chain-drive trailer mover simply clamps on to either side of your A-frame (no welding and no drilling) and it can handle the loaded trailer tongue weight up to 500-lbs. It features an automatic brake for your safety. You can hand-crank the Valet or use the cordless drill adapter # TVDA to give you a really easy method for maneuvering the trailer into tight...

  • Recommended Trailer Dolly for Maneuvering Trailer in Tight Spaces
  • For those times when you need to maneuver your trailer into its storage position an option that is better than a caster wheel jack is a trailer dolly. The Trailer Valet 5X # STC-V211 is a bolt-on trailer jack and trailer mover in one that offers 2-speed hand-crank operation that makes positioning your trailer a whole lot easier. Dual posi-traction wheels make for easy transport and the built-in handle allows for easy steering. There is even a power drill adapter # TVDA to allow powered...

  • Trailer Dolly Options for Moving a 3,400 lb Fully Loaded Trailer
  • You can try using a trailer dolly like the MaxxTow # MT70225 rated for 600 lbs Tongue Weight (TW) but 3,400 lbs is quite a lot to move by hand. I recommend using a Trailer Valet to assist you in moving the trailer which makes it much easier. The 5X # STC-V211 mounts to the trailer frame and can support up to 500 lbs of TW. It allows you to use the hand crank or a power drill, using the bit # TVDA, to effortlessly move the trailer around. A trailer's TW should be 10-15% of the loaded...

  • Tow Dolly Needed for a Boat Trailer with a 1,100 lb Alumacraft Boat
  • The best option that we have is using a Trailer Valet XL. We have part # TVXL2 which comes with a 2" hitch ball or part # TVXL25 which comes with a 2-5/16" hitch ball. These have a manual crank which make moving your trailer byt hand much easier. Both options have a 1,000 lb tongue weight rating and come with a drill bit piece so that you can use a powered drill. A step down from that is the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack # STC-V211 which is the same idea except that it mounts directly...

  • Recommended Trailer Dolly for Positioning Trailer in Garage
  • For the least amount of effort when moving your smaller InTech Flyer Pursue camping trailer around I suggest the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover # STC-V211 that bolts on to the trailer A-frame. This dolly features 2-speed hand crank operation or you can use the drill attachment # TVDA which lets you power the dolly using a cordless drill. This means all you need to do is steer it as the drill powers the wheels. The other primary method for making trailer maneuvering easier...

  • Does the Drill Attachment For Trailer Valet XL Fit Other Jacks
  • The shape of the Replacement Drill Attachment # TVDA is an asymmetrical design that wouldn't be able to fit on another brand jack. If you check out the picture I attached you can see that it's design you wouldn't be able to adapt to a different brand.

  • Can the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack be Used to Move a 4,950 lbs 2005 Jayco Feather 23B Trailer
  • As long as the tongue weight of your 4,950 lb 2005 Jayco Feather 23B does not exceed the 500 lb weight rating of the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack # STC-V211 then yes, this is an excellent product that will help make maneuvering your trailer much less of a chore. Since a properly loaded trailer will have a tongue weight that is 10-15% of the weight of the trailer you may be pushing that 500 lb tongue weight limit though. If you are unsure of your tongue weight you can use a scale like...
