Does Gear Box of Trailer Valet Trailer Jack TV94FR Stick Out Past Tube of Jack
Published 04/08/2022 >
Question:
When I the tailgate down on the truck the clearance is 11 1/2 between the mounting hole in the trailer coupler and the bottom of tailgate . . . .but it is clear straight up from coupler mounting hole past the tailgate. So the round tube of the jack will miss the tailgate . . . .but on the top of the jack is a square gearbox that is where the crank handle connects and it is larger than the round 2 1/4 jack tube. How big is that gearbox where the handle attaches ? So draw a square box in the center draw a round circle . . . .that is the view looking up . . . .how much bigger is that box that sits on top of the round tube. Will the tailgate clear the gearbox as you open the trucks tailgate. . . .I know it will clear the round section of the jack . . . .not sure it will clear the gearbox . . . .will it ? Do you have diagrams that show the dimensions of the gearbox/sidewinder ? The most important measurement is the trailgate to the edge of the round tube is 2 1/2 clearance between the tailgate and the 2 1/4 inch round jack tube . . . . .so the tailgate misses the jacks round tube by 2 1/2 inch will it miss the sidewinder gearbox by ? ? ? inches

The great thing about the gear box on top of the Trailer Valet JXC part # TV94FR that you referenced is that it does not stick out past the main jack tube forward or back once installed so you would need to have have additional clearance. If you check out the picture I attached you can see that the front and back of the gear box are flush with the jack tube.
