Will RockyMounts GuideRail Work With Aventon Pace With Carrier on Rear Tire

Updated 12/04/2025 | Published 12/03/2025

Question:

Will the Rockymounts Guardrail 2 work with an e-bike that has a rear carrier rack? My wife has an Aventon Pace step thru that has a carrier on the back tire. Also, do the monorail and guardrail have much wobble to them when attached to a 2 inch hitch? Will not be driving off road…only pavement.. Looking for something sturdy, sound, simple and easy to work with. Much appreciated, thank you. Tim G

Hi Tim; that rear carrier on the Aventon will interfere with the arm on the RockyMounts GuideRail # RKY97ZR. You will have to remove it if you want to use this bike rack. The RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10004 is the better choice since you won't have to worry about removing anything from the Aventon.

Both are going to be pretty solid with the anti-rattle pin but if you really want to cut down on movement I would add something like the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV as well. If you add this to the MonoRail it will check all of your boxes.

Where do you usually go riding?

Thank you for the quick response. I typically ride on asphalt rails to trails. I will look into the Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar. Thanks for your assistance! Tim G
