What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this replacement strap for the RockyMounts MonoRail or BackStage. It's gonna be really easy to replace your old existing strap. Ours broke on our monorail here. It just snapped off. So I had to get a new one.
So here it is. Let's check it out. AJ Something I like to point out is, when you order the replacement strap, you just get the strap. So you don't get the bolt that you need to install it. But chances are if strap like snaps off or breaks, you should still have the bolt right here in the cradle.
So you'll need to remove that to add on your new strap. So we use this wrench to back this bolt out and we're gonna use it to put it back in. So we got it all set up. Gonna line up that hole and put the bolt through. And make sure you line up the cradle with the hole in the end of the bike rack, right there is what I am aiming for.
So maybe try and get down there. See that Let it go through and it'll screw in to the other end of the cradle. So you just gotta make sure you get it through the rail itself. There we go. And just start hand-tightening it and I'll finish tightening it with the Allen key.
Looks like the strap's good there. It's nice and tight, cradle can still move too. So that's good. So, it was that easy replace the strap. And with the strap repaired, we can use the bike rack again. I really like that I can just buy that strap, if that's an issue, I don't have to buy a whole new bike rack. Just as long as you got that hardware in there still, it's still fixable.
