Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at this replacement Hitch Lock Pod for the Rocky Mounts Bike Rack. Now, this part will replace the Hitch Lock Pod that's needed on your Rocky Mounts BackStage, MonoRail, SplitRail, or TailPipe bike racks. It does include the lock core and the key. And if you notice on it, it has a nice rubber protective cover that once it's locked on there you just push it over there and it'll keep any dirt or grime from getting into the lock cylinder.
Now, this pod has run a lock to the end of the threaded anti-rattle hitch bolt that inserts through your hitch and the shank of your bike rack. And once you thread that bolt in, once it's all the way through and tightened down, then you just put this pod onto the end of it, and it'll lock it into place. Now, this will work on many different model bike racks. We've mentioned the different styles. If you go to the product page for this part number it will even list the different part numbers of the bike racks this will work on.
And then basically, once it's installed on there, to remove it, all you have to do is take the cover up, you'll see your lock there, put your key in there, and once your key goes in, you just twist it, just like that, and that'll allow you to remove it. And basically, what's nice, it is a two-sided key so it doesn't matter which way it goes in. You can go in either way. Just like that. And then once it's all locked on there, you just put that cover over there.

simple to use. not very heavy duty so only keeps someone from grabbing the bike would not keep someone with good pair of snips from taking the bike.

While I love these locks I was very disappointed when key for the new lock is different from the one I lost. Since I need two locks for the mount, one for the hitch and the other to lock the bikes, it’s a pain to have two different keys. Had I known this replaces the old lock I would have ordered two. Not too happy about this change.

This lock works great. I love having it and it protects my bike.
The product works as expected and I like the fact that the lock has a key cover which my previous lock did not.
Customer Service is top notch. Someone kept me informed of delays due to stock issues.
This fit perfectly on my rocky mount bike rack. I was having trouble with the original lock locking easily and this one did the trick. With the original one I had to slam it pretty hard to get it to lock and this one locks right away. I know my bike is safe and I no longer have to pretend or stand there and slam it on the locking rod. I 100% recommend if you have having issues with your original lock.
I have owned this lock for a year and it still works great. It was a perfect fit for my RockyMounts bike rack.

Easy on line purchase. And although one item I wanted was out of stock alternatives were offered. In order for you to get this keyed alike with your lock cylinders that you had purchased part # RKY0334 you will need to find out what the number is that starts with an E on the front of your lock cylinders. Once you know that number you can purchase a single lock cylinder with that key number. I have attached a link of single lock core cylinders.

Its still working great. Its been in snow, mud, and sand. I wanted to buy 2 that are keyed the same. But was told cant do that.
