4,800-lb Capacity. Ride-Rite air springs enhance your factory suspension for safety and stability when you are hauling heavy loads. They reduce strain on your rear axle, keep your vehicle level, and adjust to load size for a consistently smooth ride.
Features:
Specs:
Firestone Ride-Rite springs are designed to increase safety and reduce the strain on your vehicle when you are hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer. The springs partner with your existing rear suspension system to help keep your vehicle level, maintain even load distribution and increase stability. Hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer can make the rear of your vehicle sag and the front end rise. This puts more strain on your rear axle and reduces contact between your front tires and the road, causing problems with braking, steering control and traction. By adding air springs to your rear suspension, you can help to level your vehicle and improve braking and handling. The air springs also help to level your headlight beams and reduce wear on your tires.
Adjustable Air Pressure
The air pressure in your Ride-Rite springs can be adjusted manually, side to side, to compensate for off-center loads. A centered load improves the stability of your vehicle by reducing body roll. The air springs will also help to absorb road shock and to soften contact between your axle and frame. This prevents bottoming out, thus improving ride comfort. Route the air line tubing for the springs to your vehicle's bumper to provide easy access to the manual inflation valves.
Air Spring Construction
Firestone's double-convoluted Ride-Rite air springs are designed to give you maximum load support and enhance the performance and ride comfort of your vehicle. The rubber springs provide cushioning between your suspension components and operate at up to 100 psi. The springs have four layers of reinforced rubber to ensure durability and enhance load support. A braided wire girdle creates the double-convoluted shape of each air spring, increasing the burst pressure of the spring. The rubber springs are attached to corrosion-resistant metal end plates with a time-proven, rolled crimp seal that keeps the bags securely anchored.
Air Spring Installation
Each Ride-Rite kit includes custom-fit brackets that connect to your axle and frame. The brackets provide the mounting points for the air springs. Drilling may be required for some applications.

The Ride-Rite Air bags were easy to install. I installed them to level out my truck when towing my 5th wheel. These were installed on a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD short bed 4x4.

How many stars (1-5, 5 being Excellent) would you give the product: 4 ½ on both items Product Review: Installed the Firestone Air Command Compressor system and Firestone Ride-Rite helper rear Air Bags on my 2020 F-250 Super Duty (Lariat Sport Edition). The install was pretty straight forward and took 5 hours for all components. Put my truck up on the rack and removed factory jounce bumper and installed the upper bracket of the air spring with no issues. Installed bottom bracket and bag again with no issues (Pic drivers side bag). Had to make a slight cut out to the bottom axle strap bracket on the passenger side to account for brake line (Pic passenger side axle bracket). Ran all airlines (had to remove spare tire for easy access) to the passengers side frame. Mounted the compressor and control unit to the passenger side frame (Pic Compressor mount) Covered all airlines with 1/2" wire loom to protect the lines. Checked all connections and no leaks. Downloaded Air Command App and tested the system. I have not had any issues pulling my 16,000 lb 5th wheel over the past year.(Pic Truck camper) Overall I am very impressed with the system I installed and the great customer service I received when ordering the product!

Not very happy with the purchase. Packaging was sub par, 28 lbs of steel and airbags dumped into a 12x12x12 box, no packaging material. Airbags had caps over the air inlet, but both caps came off in shipping. Aluminum inserts were MISSING the threaded holes for the alignment studs. Had to drill and tap the 4 inserts (see pictures), thankfully I had a 10-24 tap on hand. Instructions are not clear in terms of 3/8” washer usage, the list of parts at the top of each page shows the incorrect amount of washers vs what is shown in the instructions, as a result not enough washers for the install, one again I had some at home thankfully, finally, the 3/8” bolts are not long enough to go through the lower brackets and provide enough thread engagement for the nylock nuts. There is no bolt stick out after assembly. The air line is very flimsy and is easy to link. Overall the only thing I liked about the kit was the air fill line bracket and the lower clamps that wrap the axle. I would likely go with the airlift product if I could do it again. Hopefully it functions well. Will find out when I put 4000 lbs over the axle.

Installed easily, and used them to pull a heavy 24’ trailer across the country with a half ton pickup. The only thing I’d like to see is a manual leveling system with gauges and a compressor on board. I use a hand pump specifically for motorcycle air suspension to make the fine adjustments required to set the pressure. Works well. They did their job perfectly.

Product appears to be of very high quality and 1 week after installing, it appears to be working as expected. I was able to install the product myself, but only with the help of a neighbor. The ordering process was great, and thank goodness for the video that was linked to the etrailer site. I wish a few things were better: 1. The optional T connector that combines the two air valves should have been more prominently advertised, because I certainly would have gotten it. As is, it's a bit of a pain to try and inflate both sides separately. 2. Firestone should have labeled ALL the parts that were specific to right or left side of the vehicle. Even with the video, it was frustrating to try and decifer which parts went on which side, and the picture orientation in the installation manual was zero help. 3. There HAS to be a better way to attach the frame bolts. Those bendable tabs and long handles and trying to line them up with the upper bracket were ridiculously tedious and time-consuming, and very nearly resulted in me returning the product. Other than that, I am very happy with the product and the competitive price.

I mounted the Firestone airbag system on my 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup. It was not as easy as the video makes it look (especially on the drivers side) but, it it turned out great. I mounted the compressor in the compartment behind the passenger seat behind the driver (see pic). I mounted the gauge and switch in the compartment between the driver and passenger (see pic). The airbag pictures are when they were holding 70 lbs pressure checking for air leaks. The first picture of the pickup is with 5 lbs air pressure in the bags and the second is with 50 lbs air pressure in the bags. When driving with 5 lbs in the bags it has the normal smooth ride and does a good job at 30 lbs of keeping the back end from sagging when I pull my boat.

Outstanding product!!! Well made and easy to install on my 2010 Tundra TRD. Just basic tools needed so anyone can do it!! Take your time and it is a fun 2 hour project. Made towing my trailer so much nicer. Level ride with comfort and good maneuverability. Think I am going to add these to my other GMC work truck as well.

Package came In a timely manner and was packaged very nicely. Just installed tonight on my 2002GMC 2500 HD 8.1L. install took about two hours. Hardest part was getting the old bump stops off the truck. Instructions were easy to follow and understand also included torque specs for each nut. After install was done I aired to 15psi and drove the truck and was not disappointed. Came back to the house and hooked my 8000lb rated trailer up with 7000lb skid loader on it and 30psi in bags the truck was level. Pulled it around town and on highway and drove a pulled great. This is a great product and glad I purchased. I will do a follow up after the winter and let everyone know how they Do in winter w 2500lbs of salt in the bed all winter.

Just got done installing the Firestone airbag kit for my 2020 Chevy 2500 LTZ Z71 crewcab Duramax truck. Install went smooth, with no issues at all. I had the Firestone airbags on a previous truck and really liked them. I got the kit for a 5th wheel trailer.

Prompt delivery with good communication as regards order. Installation was straightforward as per instructions although I didn't use the included 3/8" x 5 1/2" carriage bolts for the lower bracket. Purchased 3/8 " x 3" Grade 8 bolts which did not require shortening and were easier to work with for clearance of brake line &etc. Air lines and connections worked great and No Leaks! Currently running 10# pressure but have not tested with a heavy load as of yet. Thanks

The ride improvement is great and the additional bracket PN F5722 was not needed for my 2016 F 250 CCSB diesel because the module in question is behind where the airbag mounts on the frame, see attached pics. I did exhaustive research on whether or not the bracket was needed and could not find a definitive answer. When the box arrived one of the saddle brackets was protruding through the side of the box and the box looked like it had been opened and re-taped. I opened the box and found that the hardware bag was opened so I took inventory of everything and it all appeared to be there going by the list in the installation manual. I have the factory puck system so I did have to notch a small section of the hitch frame to allow for the passenger side upper mount bolt to pass through. When it came time to secure the bags to the upper mounts, the supplied nuts were the wrong thread pitch, I ended up having to source two nuts locally to continue with the installation. Overall the installation was not bad, I removed the spare tire and backed up on a pair of ramps. I have not pulled my 5th wheel since I installed the airbags, I will update the review once I do.

Before I received the kit, I contacted Firestone to make sure I understood any issues with installing this on a Transit. I was told to follow the instructions and if needed to drill any holes. The kit arrived. Many metal parts are thrown loosely without protection into a box. Instructions have errors. Kit says no drill but instructions say some vehicles have to be drilled. If you need to drill prepare for a nightmare. It took me 2 hours to drill the proper holes. The holes should be located lower to prevent damage to vehicle from drill chuck and to allow you to drill a straight hole. Then the washers need to be modified as the hole is too close to a perpendicular surface that prevents the washer from going over the bolt. Bolt that attaches middle bracket rubs on leaf spring. It is quite obvious that no one from Firestone ever used these directions to install this kit on a Transit. There are special tools that are required that are not provided and not identified. For example a drill extension that allows 1/2” bits would prevent damage to the vehicle when drilling. Also a 5/8” bit is required to drill a hole that the instructions state should be 1/2”. The problem is the bolt diameter is 5/8”. It has 1/2” threads but it is a shoulder bolt and the shoulder is larger than the threaded area.

See Last Review. Both are related. This unit is a good option but I’ve never been able to track down a troublesome air leak that slowly releases the compressed air over fifteen minutes. It’s a very annoying problem. Beyond that the unit was relatively easy to install although I made some specific upgrades to mount the compressor in a manner that leaves the fuel and brake lines in there original position so they didn’t need to be twisted up and out of the way. I used a 4” c-channel to firmly attach and mount the compressor over the undisturbed lines. Works great with less risk. I wish I could find the micro air leak and fix it but am at a loss as to how I might do that. I’d gladly try to spray some kind of stop leak into the air lines if I didn’t think it might screw the whole system up. In the end I’m not sure I would install this system if I had to do it all over again. I may ultimately remove it and reinstall the original rubber stops on the fra I’m since I no longer have my RV trailer anyway.

Installed as described in the Video on a f-150 2019 Lariat, max tow package 4x4. I have not loaded up the bed and towed yet so they are set to 5 psi and are riding fine. I have used the ride rites on other trucks and very happy with them. Now note you need to monitor them when not loaded as the should be kept at 5 psi unloaded. I also bought the wheel liners and mud flaps. Wheel liners needed to be cut so they would not run on the air bags.

Great setup! Bought the helper springs to help truck sag when towing and having camping gear in the bed of the truck. The before and after shows the trailer connected with 600 pounds of tongue and 300 pound tent in the bed of the truck

Big selling point for this system was “no drill”. Said so on the box. Most definitely HAD to drill… so don’t bank on that truth. Kit works well. Drove 3000+ miles with trailer for two weeks immediately following install. Work AMAZING at stabilizing the Van and improving performance. Helped tremendously. I would highly recommend. Took me about 5 hours to install … removing the old joints bumpers was the hardest part. I have had one of the air fittings fail on me now twice. Have to take stem tool and remover then re-install that stem valve. Seems to solve problem. I am a little worried about the long term performance of that stem. Not sure how to remover the press for hose to replace the part. We will see. Have now driven close to 5k miles on them in 3 1/2 weeks.

Ordered my Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs for my Ram 3500 and put them on myself. Being 71 and laying on the concrete floor I had to take a couple breaks but had them on and leakless in probably 6 hours. Teamed them up with a compressor with a fob and man I feel like a real trucker. Bags have really stabilized my truck when hauling my pickup camper eliminating any roll. Couldn't be happier. Great dealing with etrailer good price and very prompt delivery.

After a year of use It has been a great investment, enabling safe dump trailer hauling of 3.5 tons using my 2015 F150 pickup, *Truck empty without trailer attached i charge each air bladder to 30 psi to ensure a level and stable load once trailer is attached and loaded.*

Installed on a 2016 2500 GMC. First and foremost etrailer customer service has been great. Called and asked a few questions and they were able to answer them. Tow a 35ft bumper pull rv quite a bit. Have always had a light front end, primarily due to loading of the trailer and truck bed. Rv stores set you up level, but your empty on both. Loaded it rides different. I adjusted my Husky center line hitch but that didn't help. Tourqed the trailer too much. Install was easy. Have a helper. Watch the video etrailer has provided, they explain the process very well. Bolt everything together, test fit, make your alignment marks then tourqe all the necessary bolts. Pull the spare off and the heat shield. Gives you ample room. All in all easy to install and definatly gets rid of body roll. Will post a follow up after I pull my trailer. Good Luck and enjoy!! Thanks again etrailer
