To be able to use the Curt Cargo Carrier, part # C18151 on your 2015 Mustang you will need an adapter because the only trailer hitches available for your vehicle is a Class l trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
You would need an adapter like part # HTAD to be able to carry the 2-inch cargo carrier.
Keep in mind that using any adapter in the hitch reduces the weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. The # C18151 basket weight is about 55-lbs. So this would not leave you much capacity for cargo. Instead, I recommend is the Reese Cargo Carrier, part # 63155. This carrier measures 20 x 47 inches and also has side rails. It can be used without the adapter. The carrier weighs 44-lbs. If the cargo you are going to carry blocks the tail lights you will also need the Cargo Carrier Light kit, part # 20174.
Since the light kit requires a 4-way trailer connector and if you do not have a trailer connector on your Mustang I recommend part # 118487. This harness plugs into the Mustang wiring located in the trunk behind the tail lights. You will then need to run the hot lead wire to the positive battery post with the included inline fuse.
I was unable to find the weight capacity of your Mustang so you will want to check the owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure anything you carry in the trailer hitch does not exceed the vehicle capacity.
