This hitch is ready for just about anything — towing small trailers, hauling gear, or carrying bikes and cargo carriers. The 2" x 2" receiver opening works with the most common accessories, and the Class III rating gives you up to 6,000 lbs of gross trailer weight and 900 lbs of tongue weight. I am very happy with this trailer hitch receiver. The installation was easy and the instructions were easy to follow. The instructions did indicate that using a tap to clean up the self-tapping threads of the bolts would make things easier, and they were right. The fish tool for the bolts was very easy to use as well, although I only needed one (two came in the installation kit).

Very well made in the USA. Weld look great. Shipping was fast and glad they used UPS as well. The one bolt right above the exhaust pipe was a little bit of a PIA to get the torque wrench on but not etrailers fault. Very impressed I just finished installing it. Can’t wait to hook something up and tow now.
Fit for 2019 Ford Transit T250 was perfect. Had to remove recovery loop from right side (easy 2 bolts). As recommended in the instructions, I used a M12-1.75 tap in 4 places before using the self-tapping bolts. The whole installation was still less than 45 minutes working alone.
Easy install for a novice. All I needed was to borrow a torque wrench from my brother. Helpful tips in instruction sheet and on website question section answered by experts. I chatted with support prior to purchase to ask some questions and get recommendations. It fit great. Thanks etrailer for an affordable hitch receiver.
Package was delivered as promised. All parts were included with simple to follow instructions. Was a 2 person job and took less than 45 minutes. Fit perfectly. No issues. Fit and finish is great and looks great under the bumper.

The hitch bolted right up to the Transit frame. The directions say the bolts provided are self-tapping but it didn't look like that to me. Either way, I followed suggestions in the directions and pre-tapped the welded nuts with a M12-1.75 tap. Used dunnage to hold the hitch in place under the frame while I bolted it up. That's two vehicles now where I've had a great experience
I bought this hitch for a 2017 Ford Transit 350 Forrest River RV even though it was not recommended by e-trailer. The other options were several hundred dollars more so I thought I would give it a try. There were two issues that I had to overcome. First, the receiver was not low enough to clear the bumper. I dry fitted it the best I could and marked out a small area of the fiberglass bumper that needed to be cut out (about 2.5 x 0.75 in). It then fit perfectly. Second, the pre drilled holes did not line up and I had to drill 4 holes in the frame. All told, it took about an hour with my wife’s help (she started the nuts on the bolts while I held the hitch in place. To me, it was well worth it to save the extra dollars. Also, the hitch arrived several days earlier than promised.
After some weeks had passed, as I hadn't installed or used the hitch, I finally realized that the receiver portion of the hitch was not extended far enough for any raised stinger to miss the bumper. It would be nice to return the unit and get the correct fitting unit. I have not called to see if this is possible, as it was my fault for not installing and using the hitch promptly.

Arrived quickly, packaged well, looked great and fit perfectly. I needed to tap the bolt holes on my van and struggled with one but this isn't a problem with the hitch.

A year later it has worked like a champ without any problems. Ive used it to tow a boat through rough roads and there have been no issues.
Very easy install. All the parts were there and in perfect condition. Shipping came on time.
Nice looking hitch and the install was very straightforward.
Instructions were not entirely correct…. 3/4” self tapping bolts were NOT self tapping, requiring me to FORCE them in. The 3/4” socket recommended only stripped said bolts which also did not allow me to torque them to spec. 3” extensions for the sockets were NOT needed as the instructions called for. And the tailpipe on the passenger side would not allow room to use sockets OR the torque wrench ALSO forcing me to tighten by hand with a wrench. And the set of wires was also not needed, as they were easier to drop into place by hand. Would NOT recommend or order again.
I had it installed in about 30 minutes without a tap. I just used the self tapping bots that were included.
The "self Tapping" bolts were indeed not "self tapping". The threads just get eaten up and become unusable.

Hey Ethan, the installation instructions mention that a M12-1.75 thread tap can be used to cut the threads. You don't want to use an impact to drive the bolts.
This hitch is very well made, easy to install but potentially one major problem depending on what you want to use it for. The face of the receiver is recessed about two inches from the face of the bumper. For most trailers this is no problem but if you will be using hitch mounted accessories such as a bike rack with a swing away arm, it may not fit as the accessory will hit the bumper before it is completely inserted into the hitch. Be aware! Photos are of a factory Ford hitch (proud of bumper about 1/4" and the etrailer hitch recessed significantly).

When the hitch is recessed under the bumper you will want to measure the distance needed to clear the bumper. We do have a FAQ article about how to measure for a cargo carrier however it can apply to any hitch accessory.

Excellent fit but don't believe that the "self tapping" bolts that they send work, they don't. Just get a cheap tap like they recommend in the video and that solves the only problem.
The hitch receiver fit perfectly and the installation instructions were very clear. I bought the recommended tap, which made it easier to install over using a self-tapping screw. We used the hitch to hold our tandem bike rack on a 10,000-mile tour of the U.S. this winter.

The hitch seems fine. It is feels sturdy. The problem I have with it is that when I use it with a bike rack it is really loose in the receiver. I use a hitch pin that screws in and is supposed to reduce wobble. It worked great an the last hitch that I had, but this one is really loose.

Well, I think this was the hitch I put on a 2023 Ford Transit Van that I’m converting to a camper. I say this because I’ve used etrailer to supply at least 5 hitches. One if those was for a buddy that I ride bikes with…got to have a trailer hitch to carry bikes…etc. I have found etrailer always has a hitch to fit my vehicles and usually, they have a choice of 3 or 4 hitches. And, I’m tight, so I can guarantee you etrailer has a price I can feel good about. Give them a try, you’ll like them.

My hitch works just as it should …out of sight and out of mind most of the time but there when I need it. A solid product.
Todo llego perfecto, y super rapido, la instalacion fue facil y rapida. Los agujeros de fabrica que no tenian rosca, utilice el tornillo viejo que estaba en el enganche de fabrica para roscar el metal. Para mi todo fue rapido y sencillo. Compre este modelo, porque el otro modelo que aguanta mas peso es mas complicado para colocar que este.
Everything arrived perfectly and super fast. Installation was quick and easy. The factory holes that were not threaded, I used the old screw that was in the factory hook to thread the metal. For me everything was quick and easy. I bought this model because the other model that supports more weight is more complicated to install than this one.

el producto sigue perfecto - The product is still perfect
Works as intended and looks great. Make sure you tap out the nuts first as recommended. This is not a hitch issue, it's a van issue. One bolt is blocked by tailpipe so you will not be able to use a torque wrench, but if you do the other 5 first you can kind of guess how much torque to use. I was able to install by myself in less than 1 hour.
The hitch is recessed about 2" under the bumper, not flush with like most other trucks. I use it for a bike rack. I have a 2 bike 1UP rack. With a mountain bike the wide handle bar only clears the rear door by about 2", meaning with sway it would hit. But I use a swing out arm that provides about 1 foot of extra clearance so it's not a problem

Flawless function and fit. Its been used for a bike rack carrier and trailer towing. Works exactly as it should. Doesnt interfere with anything, it isnt in the way. When not in use, I remove the trailer hitch ball mount it fits perfectly behind the passenger seat.
