Question:

Hi I am just looking for a ballpark estimate on how long it should take a professional to install a tow hitch and wiring on a Ford Transit 250 high roof and 147 wheelbase. I read another post from you where it says a professional can do it in about 15 minutes and a DIY guy could do it in half an hour. Didn't know if the model of car would drastically change the time required. Thanks for any information you can provide.

The model of vehicle does impact the time it takes to install a trailer hitch and wiring, although for a 2017 Ford Transit T250 a decent ballpark estimate is 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

The good news is there is a very simple to install trailer hitch for a '17 Ford Transit T250 Cargo Van or Passenger Wagon so this will take the least amount of time.

The etrailer.com Trailer Hitch # E98842 can be put installed in roughly 30 minutes for an everyday DIYer; it does not require any drilling to install which saves a lot of time and you will simply raise it into position and use self-tapping bolts to secure it to your van. In regards to trailer wiring on a 2017 Ford Transit T250 without the factory tow package the correct wiring harness is the Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56327.
