This custom-fit, Class III hitch gives your vehicle a 2" x 2" receiver opening—perfect for towing small trailers or adding a bike rack, cargo carrier, or ball mount. With a gross trailer weight rating of 5,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 750 lbs (and 6,000 lbs GTW when used with weight distribution), it’s built strong enough for frequent use. The sturdy square-tube design gives you reliable strength without extra bulk under the bumper.
The fully welded steel construction gets an extra layer of protection from a matte black powder coat over a base coat, giving it superior rust and corrosion resistance. The finish has a rugged, carbide-like look that hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy surface. It’s made to handle weather, road grime, and regular towing without losing its clean appearance.
This hitch bolts directly to the vehicle’s frame using the included hardware kit—no welding needed. The precision robotic welding ensures everything lines up for an easy fit. Working with etrailer to buy this hitch far exceeded expectations. The hitch receiver was on my front porch in less than 24 hours without any expedited shipping. The hitch fit perfectly even considering some tight clearances. Despite the excellent installation instructions/youtube videos recommending that two people install the hitch, I did it by myself with a jack and a couple of stands. Don't be encouraged by my foolishness. Order from etrailer and get your neighbor to help with the installation. Well done!
Package arrived quickly. Hitch was really well packed inside the carton. The hitch is heavier than I expected looking really well made, with good welds and a solid finish. It was heavier than I expected, which tells you about the thickness of metal used. I planned to recruit my son to help me, but he was working late, so I tackled it on my on. The guide wire design is great. It took longer to unpack the hardware than it to to string it through the frame holes. Once that was done, with the help of my floor jack, I lifted the hitch into place, fed the wires through the holes and maneuvered it into place. This was the hardest part, but there were only a few spots that slightly blocked. The shape of this hitch, combined with the well thought out frame design on my Cadillac, made this a fun project that I completed in about 90 minutes. Last step was to torque up the bolts to 70 ft/lbs. I left the bumper cover off to ease use of the hitch. Maybe I'll put it back in the winter.
Quality of the receiver was better than I expected. Material throughout is 1/4 inch and the welds are laid well too, like their welder knows what they’re doing. Feels really well built with really durable textured powder coating. Installation was simple, took me 15 minutes after watching the installation video. Receiver is tucked away nicely behind the factory bumper cover when not in use. Highly recommend this receiver to anyone on the fence with deciding to purchase.

Easy to install as the video suggests. This is the 2nd one that I've installed on my two Cadillac XT5's . Totally hidden once installed . Highly recommend if you don't want a visible trailer hitch on your cadillac.

The installation went very well after watching the etrailer installation video.
The trailer hitch is beefy. I think when the vehicle is no more, that hitch will still survive! My son and I installed the hitch in our driveway. Getting the most forward bolts fished into the frame was difficult. Also, the bolts will try and retract up into the frame while you put the nuts on. The bolts can be held from the side with a flat blade screwdriver while nuts are threaded on, stopping them from retracting. In the end, all fit well.
There's a trick to removing the vehicle trailer electrical connector protective cap that's not well covered in the video. The red plastic retainer clip can be released by pushing on the red tab with the v slot that is visible from the cap side using a small flat
blade screwdriver.
Installers in my area wanted $140 - $150 to put the hitch on. This was too much for me, so I did it myself - even though I'm 71 with bad knees. My son's help made it possible.
Product shipped via USPS so went to local post office as I do not have mail delivery at my address resulting in delay and special trip to post office. Hitch was well designed to fit into the vehicle without have in remove anything first. Installation of front Bolts was a bitch and took the majority of time otherwise easy job.

I’m no expert but I added on a piece of wire to the guide wire for the front holes and installation took 15 minutes fitment was perfect for my wife’s Cadillac
Heavy duty hitch
Interacted with Chris at etrailer. Chris answered all my questions with the up most confidence for my 2025 Cadillac XT5 trailer hitch. no problems at all.. Haven't installed it yet more than likely over the next couple of days. the hitch came really fasssst only 3 days! The hitch came complete with a installation and the hardware kit to get it installed quickly.. I would not hesitate to buy from etrailer.. They will give you top notch service for sure!
Well engineered receiver. I had it installed in a half hour, although my XT5 was up on my 2-post lift. I like the fact that the factory cover can be installed when not using the hitch.

For a Caddy XT5, fits perfect. No adjustments to exhaust or trim needed. Need good coordination and yoga moves for a 1-person install; but a floor jack helped hold it in place.
