Question:
Hello, Im purchasing a 2025 Cadillac XT5 without the trailer hitch. Id like to install one. The hitch itself seems strightforward but I have a question on the electric connection. On my existing 2015 Ford Explorer it has both the flat 4 wire and the round 7 pin connectors. This has been handy. Do you offer a electric hookup that gives both like my explorer? Thanks, Ed

Hi Ed!
I wasn't sure which hitch you were looking at, but I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e62AR. The matte black finish helps hide it better than glossy options, which I think looks more stock-ish.
The wiring will be a little more difficult, but not overly so. There isn't a wiring harness for your '25 Cadillac XT5 that has both the 7-way and 4-flat, but it is possible to get something that does. You will need to start with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector # C56326 you were looking at and then also grab the Curt Dual Connection Socket w/ Bracket - 7-Way RV Style and 4-Way Flat - Vehicle End # C36GJ. The 7-ways can be swapped as both use the pretty standard USCAR connection. You will have an extra 7-way only plug, but it never hurts to have a spare.
The only potential issue will be where it installs. Your XT5 has a cover that pops over the hitch receiver to keep it hidden when not in use and I am not sure how much space there is. I have an image attached with the measurements of the bracket the # C36GJ comes with to give you an idea, but you will need to take some measurements to see if it will fit. If it isn't going to, you can also grab the # PK12716 7-way to 4-flat adapter instead of the # C36GJ. It is something that would need to be stored in the vehicle, but it is pretty small and will plug right into a 7-way to give you a 4-flat.
What are you planning on towing with your XT5?

Hi Ed, Did you have a chance to check if the bracket measurements fit your XT5? I'm asking because it could help others who want to install similar wiring setups.
