Hi Jaimee!
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e62AR can fit your 2018 Cadillac XT5, but the Platinum package does complicate things. The reason being that stainless steel skid plate they put on the back of them.
You will need to purchase 3 GM parts to get the hitch installed (we do not carry these, so you will need to source them elsewhere) and it is a bit of work to get done, but it can be done. Here are the extra parts you will need:
QTY.1 - GM Part Number 84245216 Metal Skid Plate
QTY.1 - GM Part Number 84492573 Metal Cover
QTY.2 - GM Part Number 11612236 Bumper Cover Trim Nut
These will replace your current skid plate and gives you a removeable cover to have the hitch hidden when not in use, which is nice. I will warn you though, it's kind of a pain in the butt to do, so be patient.
What are you wanting to use this hitch for once it's installed?

My 2018 XT5 wore this very same hitch for years before a drunk driver totaled her. Special notes not mentioned: a) I thought that stainless steel beauty strip wasn’t beautiful enough reapply my original, which IF one is exceedingly careful the original could be reaffixed. The s/s strip is held on by many delicate “butterfly fasteners”. A few of these are going to be destroyed but it would be held in place with a few missing. I left mine off and never missed it. b) I’m not obsessive enough to care of strangers noted my receiver. He’s right, that plastic cover will be a constant pain to remove/replace. I bet one could remove n replace the original. c) NOT MENTIONED IS THE REQUIRED stop at U-Hall to buy a actual electrical connection for your trailer’s lights. If you look underneath the car where the original Trailer Light Receiver SHOULD be there is just a stupid stub of wax(?) where all other models have a Trailer Lights Receiver is. d) MOST IMPORTANT TIP IS TO PULL THE CURLY Q THINGY MUST BE, MUST BE STARTED AT THE MOST FORWARD HOLE ON EACH SIDE FIRST, repeat start pulling the curly Q spring tool from the most forward hole first!!! I wrongly thought I will start at the most rear bolt first you know, to get used used to this strange process of threading the bolt’s threads into the curly Q “tool”. The driver side three bolts took almost two hours and my entire vocabulary of sailor swear words. The passenger get side took 12 minutes. A word from the deeply scared experienced one.
