Can Curt Hitch C66KR be Installed to Avoid Interference With Liftgate Sensors
Updated 02/28/2022 | Published 02/25/2022 >
Question:
Hi there, Im worried about the caveat to the trailer hitch for the 2021 Toyota RAV4: inch Hitch may interfere with the Hands-free Liftgate sensors and functionality may be very limited or possibly lost. Is there a way to install the trailer hitch that avoids damage or interference to the sensors? I havent seen any reviews that mention this as an issue, but I definitely need the lift gate sensors to work on the car.

In short, no, there isn't a way to 100 percent guarantee the hands-free liftgate on your 2021 Toyota RAV4 will function exactly the same after installing any trailer hitch, including the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C66KR.
There isn't a different installation method for the # C66KR which negates the possibility, but I will say that I haven't heard of this happening with this hitch. What happens far more often than not when there is this warning is that you just have to kick your foot to the side of the receiver portion of the hitch, and the liftgate will work.
