This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is made for real-world work. With a 6,000 lb maximum gross trailer weight and 900 lb tongue weight, it’s tough enough for small campers, boats, or cargo trailers. When used with a weight distribution system, capacity jumps to 8,000 lbs GTW and 900 lbs TW. You won’t have to worry about rust taking hold after a few wet seasons. The hitch is coated inside and out with a protective liquid Bonderite layer and finished with a high-gloss black powder coat. This dual-layer finish adds long-term durability and keeps the hitch looking sharp even after regular use.
This hitch bolts directly to the frame—no drilling or welding required—so it’s doable in a home garage with basic tools. The mounting hardware is included, and the open-back receiver design makes cleaning simple after installation. A one person installation! With the online installation video in hand I was able to install the hitch and light wiring in 1.5 hrs. The hitch bolted up easily and the T light wiring kit was as simple as the online video explained. Best of all, this hitch looks good.

This curt trailer hitch is very sturdy. It bolts onto my 2022 Toyota Highlander without any issues. I highly recommend this tow hitch for anyone who wants to tow utility trailers or smaller boats and campers.
Have not installed it yet. Hitch came unscathed so was very pleased. Anxious to install it looks pretty straightforward. I’ve bought a few things from etrailer and always been happy and Will was very patient and helpful.
This is an extremely durable and heavy duty trailer hitch. It fit perfectly on my 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited. The foot kick sensor still works just fine for the hands free liftgate. I just kick under the new hitch bar and point my toes up around the back and it works every time. I installed it myself. Tightened it with my socket wrench and went to an auto parts store to rent a torque wrench to tighten it up the rest of the way. I don't own one and didn't want to buy one just for six bolts. I trimmed a little bit of the plastic underbody panel with an oscillating trimmer tool, not the entire suggested piece in the instructions. Only what needed to be removed for the driver's side of the new hitch plate that is exposed.

Works as intended, straight forward ins tallation
Perfect fit! Pretty easy installation but definitely need a second person to help hold it up until you get a bolt in each side. Love the “hidden” look! Completely flush with the bumper means no hitting your shins!! Highly recommend
Great hitch and fit perfectly. It came in an unbroken box (I’ve seen some people complain their box was broken) with no scratches or issues. The holes and hitch lined up perfectly. The video is a great reference, so keep it handy while you’re installing it. I had to use the Chat on the etrailer website to find torque specs because it wasn’t in the instructions. Other than that, no issues. I tried installing without dropping the muffler, not possible, at least for me it wasn’t. But with an extra hand it popped out of the hanger pretty easily. The video said the instructions came with a guide for the panel to cut, but mine didn’t have that. I just watched the video and made my own mark and cut. I did cut less than what the video showed to keep the panel closer to the hitch for a cleaner look, but that took a few shaving cuts to get it right. Overall, very pleased with it.
Weather finally allowed me to install. Fit was perfect. Used pair of ramps as props with a hydraulic jack to then lift the final foot and get the first bolt in. I kept the fascia and just cut out the parts that would not fit.
Very easy straight forward install after watching install video.
The shipping box was ripped open but the only damage was a scrapped decal. All of the hardware and installation instructions were securely taped to the hitch
Able to install hitch solo, it fit perfectly. Wiring kit took more time than the hitch to install.
I have always bought Curt hitches for their quality and installation ease. I was happy with Curt again.

The installation instructions were spot on! I do have a suggestion for the installation instructions. In my case,(I have a 2022 Toyota Highlander XLE), I found that simply unbolting the rubber muffler hanger bracket and removing it was far easier and quicker than trying to pry the muffler hanger out of the rubber part of the bracket. It was a breeze to remove it and replace it after installing the hitch.
This is a great heavy duty trailer and especially like that it doesn't extend past the bumper! The video install and paper instructions were very helpful and accurate especially where to trim the splash guard . I used a floor jack to position hitch in place as I didn't have a helper. I highly recommended.
Product was as advertised. Directions were clear and concise. Time frame to get the job done was right on the mark. I was pleasantly surprised the whole project went without a hitch. Oh wait a minute, there was one hitch. The one I install without a glitch!~)
