I have a 2026 Highlander with 20 tires and factory spare Im thinking a c45cr hitch but I need a plug in light harness I do not have a tow package will a tx56525 work thanks

Hi Mark,

The Curt Trailer Hitch part # C45CR will fit the frame of your 2026 Toyota Highlander but it won't allow space for your spare tire if it's larger than 18 inches. If your factory spare is 20 inches then I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH35VR as it has been confirmed to work with the full size spare tire.

I was unable to find a part on our site for the tx5652, but we do have a 56525 wiring harness that is meant for certain years of the Acura TLX, which won't work for you Toyota Highlander. For a wiring where you don't have to splice in, we have the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/4-Pole Flat part # 119250KIT. This kit will use zero contact clamp sensors that will clamp onto the Highlander's existing taillight wires without having to splice in. The harness draws power directly from the battery using a 20 ft 12-gauge wire to protect the vehicle from feedback as well.

The ZCI harness won't require any splicing but is pricier than the universal Curt Powered Tail Light Converter w/4-way Flat harness part # C59496. While you will have to splice into the vehicle's wiring this is a more cost effective option that will still provide a secure connection and make sure your vehicle's lights match your trailer's while towing.
