This is the second hitch I've bought from etrailer.com. Like the first one, it went on with no problems at all. There was a piece of plastic I had to cut for the hitch to fit on my 2025 Hybrid Hylander, but I just followed the directions in the video, and all is good.
The one problem I had, had nothing to do with the hitch. I'm mentioning this in case it's helpful.
My problem was putting the bumper clips back into their slots. I'd never worked with these types of clips before (see attached image), and after about 45 minutes I realized there are two parts to them. I think of the parts as an anchor and a screw that don't come apart. In order to slide a clip into a slot, you have to first slide its "screw" out of its "anchor" as much as possible (they won't come apart), slide the "anchor" into the slot, then push the "screw" back into its "anchor".
I'm coming back to etrailer.com next time I need a hitch.
The hitch receiver is well made and heavy duty. Took about an hour and a half to install. Cutting the cover panels was a little tricky but the hitch receiver fit perfectly. Installing was a 2 man job.

I was cheap and decided to install the hitch on my own by myself. The directions and Videos helped VERY MUCH! There is a plastic cover that was not shown in the instructions or video above the exhaust but I figured it out.
Getting the first bolt started was a pain but after that everything went smooth again. I got a Torque wrench from the Auto parts store as a loaner, I would not skip this step on a hitch.
Overall doing it by myself was a slight pain without a lift but i managed to get it done.
Shipping was VERY FAST ordered on a Thursday morning it arrived Saturday afternoon to NW Florida.

Were you cheap or resourceful? I didn't know you could borrow tools from auto parts stores so you've also taught me something today, too. What all do you plan to use the hitch for?
ETrailer does it again! Phenomenal customer service - made things happen I didn’t think were possible when a shipment didn’t arrive in time. The online tutorials made the whole installation process easy to follow. Buying a new trailer direct from the mfg on Monday and excited to try it out.

It arrived in great shape. I won't say it was the easiest project I have undertaken but it fit perfectly. The video and the instructions helped plus I watched some other videos on YouTube that gave some additional recommendations. Additionally, Gwen was very helpful in assisting me with my order.

We did a x-country trip last year over a period of 3 months. We attached a hitch rack to our new hitch and it worked out perfectly. We could not be more satisfied with both the hitch and the rack

Installed on 2022 Toyota Highlander SXE, which takes a different model number than all other Highlanders in 2022. Easy to install, by myself using a rachet strap over the frame and under cross bar of hitch. Just remember to unhook the muffler strap , to have clearance for cross bar to get above tail pipe would buy again!
My hitch and wiring kit was delivered in less than a week, that and with no shipping charges. The wiring kit was in a small box that was affixed to the inside of the hitch box, and the hitch hardware was tightly secured to the hitch with strapping tape. The only issue was that the receiver end had broken through the box, probably during transport or delivery. Maybe a layer or two of cardboard at that vulnerable spot would have helped. I’ve been a happy customer of etrailer for many many years.
Easy install. Solid materials. I put this on a 2021 Toyota Highlander XSE and the only additional piece I had to work around was taking the exhaust off the rubber mount. the hitch does press into the plastic bumper some, but not enough that is readily noticeable.
This is the second hitch Curt Hitch we've purchased and installed on one of our Highlanders. It's simple to install and didn't take very long to do so. The best part is that it doesn't interfere with you don't lose the hands free ability to open the rear hatch.

Etrailer was so easy to work with for the purchase of my Highlander hitch. I’m not going to lie, hitches aren’t easy for the average car owner to install but the instructions were good and we got it installed with no issues. I had to call customer support because I had some questions as to which hitch to order. They were very knowledgeable and guided me to the correct hitch.
We put this trailer hitch on our Toyota and have loved it since installation. The install went very well and instructions were great.
Appears a solid product which will easily my needs which is a bike hitch rack. It fit as advertised on a Toyota Highlander XSE. I’m not mechanically disinclined, but nonetheless I was fortunate that my son’s Father’s Day gift was to lead the way installing the hitch. A single person operation without a lift or another means of support and the hitch would be back in the box. Team effort and a two-hour project. Kudos to offering the videos down to the make and model of the car! Extremely helpful. Four star given a single use to date.
I’d give it 4.75 stars if I could. Taking a little off because it was scuffed up and had scratches in different places but it’s under the car so not a big deal and I didn’t think 4 stars was fair for that. Fast shipping, boxed well and fit my 2021 Toyota Highlander platinum like a glove. Just follow the directions. Heavier than I thought so definitely needed a 2nd set of hands getting it up in place and fastening it in.
I was rear ended on the interstate in a rain storm. Lucky for me I had hitch ball in and the hitch took 90% of the impact and held firm and saved a great deal of damage.
Arrived only 2 days after ordering! High quality receiver and it fit perfectly. Shipping carton was a big torn up but the unit was packed well inside and was not damaged in any way. The etrailer.com installation video for 2022 Hylander was very clear and helpful. No snags with the installation. Great company to deal with.
This hitch is flawless and was fairly easy to mount. The wife uses it on our Highlander with a Thule 4 bike rack.
It came in 3 days early, good quality and nothing was missing. I have 2023 Toyota Highlander XSE and we used tutorial video to install them. They didn't have video on how to remove rubber that holds muffler in place- WD40 and wrench is all you need. I liked that it also came with instructions on how to cut out the underbody plastic cover so it can go back in with hitch. Would order from this company again!

Instructions are a bit confusing. After you remove the plastic, strapping and plugs/screws, the installing the Curt hitch receiver is straightforward. The product itself is made really well, extremely solid and fits perfectly.
After researching several sites, I chose etrailer, Curt hitch receiver class 3. Both retailer & manufacturer have high ratings and the videos provided all the information needed. Was able to install on my garage floor, no lift of vehicle. Did all the prep before having my wife hold one side while I secured the other. Hard to imagine one person doing this step. Getting bolts in required a bit of persuasion but once in they tightened easily, torqued them, put the rest back together. My lift gate has the kick open feature, glad to see the hidden hitch allows it to still work. Definitely use the video that matches your hitch, very pleased!!

Fantastic, use is mostly summer to tow a motorcycle or two bicycles. Still looks new!
Great quality and finish. Insulation was fairly straightforward although the instructions on cutting the plastic cover were not clear and ittook some time to figure out.
Overall, this is a good hitch and looks great once installed. The only reason I would give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that as some other reviewers have pointed out, the bolt hole closest to front end on passenger side near the exhaust did not fully line up. I had to drop the hitch and cut the slot out larger to get it lined up. Thankfully, I had tools on hand and it was a quick change. Other than that, no issues.
My 4th hitch from etrailer over the years. Once again excellent video and instructions. Quick delivery. great doing business with this company.
4*s because my kick sensor won't work anymore on my 2020 Toyota highlander hybrid Platinum. Looks nice & tucked in though
