Hello William. Our best two hitch options for the 2021 Toyota Highlander are the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e75ZR and the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C45CR. Both have the same 5,000 lb towing and 500 lb tongue weight rating. Our etrailer brand hitch is actually made by Curt, so the two are very similar. The main noteworthy difference is that our etrailer hitch uses a matte black powder coating, while the Curt has a black gloss coating. We have found that the matte black coating is better at resisting scuffs and scratches. It also tends to look better on the car, since the matte black will blend better with the underbody of the vehicle. Both hitches will require the same amount of underbody trimming, and I have linked an install video, as well as the manufacturer instructions for you below.
