This Hitch is perfect for our bikes! It went on super easy and only literally took about 30 minutes to install. Great step by step instructions and the video was amazing... Would have been harder by myself, but with a helper it went on like a breeze...

Thank you etrailer..... Well done!!

by:

Just amazing that a product like that can be built to such tight tolerances. It fit perfectly. The spring wires that are designed to feed the bolts into location work perfectly also. It is important to keep a hold on the bolt after you pull the wire off and work to get a night on. I am a 72 year-old male and it took me just a little over an hour to complete the entire project.

The hitch was well-made, and installing it was very easy. However, the design of the hitch is somewhat perplexing. The hitch receiver hangs about 3 inches lower than it needs to, which reduces the ground clearance on the front of the truck significantly. See attached photos. The hitch will work until I find something better, That restores the front ground clearance

Great, except for the reduced front clearance as indicated in my review

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

This front hitch carrier has been a life saver for us. I reviewed all the bike mounting options I could find for our truck camper and decided that mounting the bikes on a front receiver hitch was the way to go. The customer service at the front end was excellent. I needed to be sure that the position of the hitch receiver would allow a) enough ground clearance, b) that the bikes would not be touching the front grill of the truck, c) that the bikes would not be sitting up so high that the view of the driver would be obstructed and d) that I would actually be able to do the install myself. Well, the customer service gal on the phone was very helpful and took a lot of time to research and answer all my questions and I felt confident that I was getting the right item. I was able to install the receiver in less than 2 hours with the help of my neighbor. The instructions were clear and the install went fairly smoothly. The end result is an excellent product that is very strong and durable and holds our bike rack perfectly. We have logged over 5000 miles since installing it last spring and I could not be happier with how things have worked out!

The Curt Front Mount Hitch is a great addition to any working man's truck. The fit is so tight that I had to bend the side frame tabs out a little bit to get it mounted. Once in place it mounted exactly as described.

by:

Had the front hitch in use for about a year. No issues...supports a front "cooler" rack that I modified and added a bike roack to the front of that...it performs the way it should....easy install...great produt...happy all around

2016 GMC Sierra 3500

I really like the front hitch. I use it to haul kayaks when I'm towing my fifth wheel.
My only complaint is that it significantly decreases my front end clearance. I now tend to hit ground while going through dips.
Other than that, it's been great.

by:
2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Well so far so good. It was a little difficult trying to do it by myself, got most of it done and then had to go to a autobody shop down the road to tighten up the 4 bolts.

It worked out great! We traveled to Key West from New England with only a couple of problems. Watch out for dips in the road, curbstones, large tree roots.

by:

We purchased this in-order to haul our bikes when pulling our RV. It works as it should, however, I really don’t like the way it looks on the front of my truck.

2017 Chevrolet Silverado

Put this hitch on the front of my 2017 Silverado 2500HD mainly to carry bikes every once in a while.

Well built and works fine. I made a feeble attempt to install it myself but took it to the shop anyways so they could do it while the truck was up on the lift; you really have to finagle it into position.

My truck is stock height and rides on KO2's. The receiver rides a bit low but I have yet to hit or scrape anything with it, so you don't really know it's there at all.

by:

excellent service and shipping very fast, just 3days i got my order.

by:

High quality hitch. Great install instructions. Not hard to install but you will need two people. May be possible with one person with truck on a lift.

2018 Ford Transit Connect

Installed on a 2018 Chevy 3500HD (diesel)

Product
arrived as scheduled in a shipping box that was damaged in transit. Upon inspection of the contents, it was determined everything was fine and all installation parts were securely attached to the hitch. It's understandable that a cardboard box with a 35 pound steel frame will get some damage in handling.

Installation: Absolutely watch the video online, it is extremely helpful! I jacked up the front of my truck about 6 inches and set jack stands in place on the jacking blocks behind front wheel wells. I also removed the plastic debris guard (4-15mm bolts) for easier access to the mounting points. I must say, the threaded pull wires are a wonderful addition that made the installation flawless! Take your time and follow the enclosed instructions (and video) and it should take you about 30-45 minutes. I am an average mechanic at best and this was a really easy install!

Be aware that adding the hitch up front will require you be careful with parking curbs, however I think the hitch is stout enough to insure it will destroy a concrete curb. Probably best to avoid testing that theory.

I test mounted a motorcycle carrier on the from of the truck and loaded up a KTM 690 Duke. (315 lbs) Virtually no sag in the front suspension and to bike should ride well with proper pads & tie-downs. Makes for an interesting hood ornament ;)

All in all, a great product and vendor. You can buy with confidence.

Stout Hitch

by:
2015 Ram 3500

Overall quality looking hitch. The side-flanges were not wide enough to fit around my ‘16 Sierra 3500 frame which was extremely difficult to install, especially with the fish-wire. Had to use a floor jack to push the hitch into place and remove the skid plate and thankfully there was an access hole in the frame where the flange-bolt goes. Did not want to cut a hole behind the license plate so this was the only option and would buy again if needed but the flanges should be 1/16th to an 1/8 of an inch wider.

Fits and easy to install

by:
GMC Sierra

This product is super easy install (took me less than 20 minutes all by myself). No cutting or drilling required. The product also works great. This makes backing a trailer into a tight spot much easier. The only down fall of this product is that it has to drop down pretty close to the ground to clear the lower air dam on the Sierra 2500HD. The remaining ground clearance leaves the hitch low enough to hit the ground when pulling up to tall curbs or parking blocks and would also likely hit ground fairly easily while four wheeling. The low ground clearance is the only reason I gave this four stars instead of five stars. Please note that to get a front hitch that is no cutting or drilling, there is no other option...it has to be below the air dam.

by:

Great customer service, timely delivery and mounted just like told. Overall a great experience.

by:

Works like it should, solid fit. Only thing needed for me, for towing bikes, was an 8" extension bracket. Thanks.

Very happy after a year of using this front mount hitch on my 2019 Silverado 3500HD. We carry a full size truck camper in the bed and this front hitch allows us to take our bicycles with us whenever we go camping. We did one very successful trip of over 11,000 miles in 2019. No problems with this hitch at all. Would highly recommend.
