Hi Michael,

I have a couple of options for your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 (diesel) to choose from. The first is the Draw-Tite # 65078 and the second is the Curt # C31071. Both have the same exact specifications when it comes to capacities but their one clear difference is where the receiver tube comes out. The Draw-Tite receiver tube is going to require you to trim a hole in the front air dam to allow it to stick through. The Curt receiver tube sits lower so that it can clear the front air dam.

Personally, I prefer the Draw-Tite # 65078 because even though it looks a little goofy sticking out where it does it's going to give you better ground clearance. The Curt hitch sitting so low already and then weight being added could drop the tube down low enough to scrape when going up/down inclines/declines.

If you plan on hauling some heavy equipment, like a snow plow or generator then I highly recommend also looking into some front suspension enhancement like the SumoSprings # SSF-202-47 to help compensate for the load and prevent sagging.

I've attached some installation videos below but if you have any other questions I'd be happy to help.
