Question:
I have a 2010 gmc sierra 2500. It is an extended cab with an 8 foot service bed. My frame rails have a mount for the service e bed right in the same area that might need a modification. But I see you have two products for this truck. 15312 15302 What one is the correct one for my truck

Hello Steven, thanks for reaching out. For your 2010 GMC 2500 Extended Cab with the 8' bed you will want the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15312. This is specifically designed for the 2500 long bed models.
The # C15302 hitch you mentioned is for the 2500 6-1/2' bed models.
I've attached a picture showing how the # C15312 hitch installs. You can compare this to the frame of your truck and make sure the service bed rails don't obstruct the hitch mounting location.
What will you be suing the hitch for?

Steven, (I hope I'm replying to the correct person) I am on a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, 8' bed standard cab. My installation was pretty straight forward and by the books; however, the previous owner had a DMI Cushion bumper...that, plus the traditional frame rust you see on a standard issue GMT 800 made it not the most enjoyable thing. The only modification I had to make to the hitch itself was to the passenger side next to the exhaust. This was an aftermarket exhaust the previous owner installed requiring a slight modification...but aside from that, you should see a pretty straight-forward install.

Mine was a pretty easy install on my '05 Silverado 3500 SRW with an 8' bed. I had one on the truck (not this brand or capacity) that was on there when I bought it, but it was bent out of shape when a rental skid steer was loaded too close to the front, past the trailer axles by the rental yard guys. I'm not sure if the bolt holes were the same, but it was a factory hitch and I didn't have any trouble getting it in by myself. I've also pulled trailers with excavators and skid steers on it and never had a bit of trouble with anything.
