Looks great, Derek! Glad the videos helped. What are your plans for the hitch?

by:
2023 Honda Odyssey

I bought my hitch online Saturday afternoon. It was shipped on Sunday and arrived at the install shop Wednesday. It was installed on Thursday, hitch looks great and works great. It all worked so seamlessly and all I had to do is bring my van to the shop. Thanks etrailer

by:
2022 Honda Odyssey

TLDR: only uses two of the OEM mounting points instead of all three and flexes too much under heavier load. Poor engineering.

This rack has too much flex. I used this rack for 18 months with my 6 bike vertical bike rack at least 3 times per month and several longer road trips. about 250lbs total tongue weight with all bolts torqued to spec. I use the Timbren SES. I had concerns immediately with the flex, but online reviews said this was unibody flex and “normal”. I resorted to using straps from my roof rails to keep it from bouncing. After seeing another owner with the same hitch had a cracked frame under their hitch, the commenters pointed out the failed design only uses two of the OEM mounting points. I immediately purchased the DrawTite 76171 from E-Trailer that had a longer mounting base and uses all three OEM mounting points. The DrawTite was much easier to install and torque (no carriage bolt), the receiver tube is longer, but actually sits an inch further back, the DrawTite is actually higher off the ground by a few centimeters. For being a heavier hitch, I actually get better ground clearance and my vertical rack sits two inches closer to the van. Best of all, no more flex or bounce with the DrawTite. Avoid this Curt hitch due to the mounting points. If you want a lighter hitch, find a hitch that uses all three OEM mounting points.

Hey Soren. I can definitely see what you are talking about. We did get a recent update from Curt that they are slowly updating their information to state that vertical hanging bike racks can not be used with their hitches. I do wish we had this information back when you first got the hitch so to avoid you having to go through this.

Very good quality and at a reasonable p rice.

by:

The Installation instructions and quality of the product were the best. I've had the trailer hitch for about a year and think the overall quality and service is the best from etrailer.com.

Easy install, took an hour to do by myself with the assistance of one jack stand. Works great for our cargo carrier. Very satisfied with this product.

Overall very happy with the purchase, speed of delivery and ease of installation. Wish the wiring kit would come with a bracket/mounting plate to attach the harness to the trailer hitch receiver.

Thank you for your review. The mounting brackets are sold separately for this hitch. Here is a 4 pole flat bracket you can install Part # 18144. And here is a no drill feature to add to that Part # 18140.

This hitch receiver was a perfect fit and easy to install with the video from etrailer. This is my second receiver I have purchased from etrailer and I will continue to go to them with all my trailering needs. I have also purchased other items and the customer service is top tier. Great company all around.

Installed on a 2020 Honda Odyssey. Fast shipping even a few days before Christmas. Fits perfectly. They send little fish wire springs to make some of the bolts go in easily. They are genius and will be kept for other projects (one tip is only thread the spring on about 3 turns to make it come off without destroying the wire spring). I did carefully trim about a quarter inch of the plastic trim panel that you have to remove on the driver's side around were the bracket of the hitch drops out. I did a review on the harness separately with a few tips for its install. Very pleased!

by:

I have installed this CURT 13370 in my Odyssey 2022. It fits just right. The instruction and the video link helps a lot (thank you etrailer), I was able to install it by myself. Ordered this to carry bikes easily to any location for a family ride. Tested getting in and out from my home drive way with the bike rack installed and and no issues.

by:

Fantabulous service and product is wonderful. Ordered it on a weekend and was on my doorstep by Friday. All hardware was accounted for and securely fastened to the hitch; installation took about 30-40 min with most of the time to get the plastic off.
Great product- will use etrailer for future needs.

2021 Honda Odyssey

installed easily. paint/finish had a couple scrapes from shipping. spray paint fixed the worst of them. Not sure how good the paint/coating quality really is, so I'm a bit skeptical of its quality being any better than draw-tite or other brands.

No mounting bracket for the 4 pin connector, so that leaves something to be desired. Otherwise, very solid feeling receiver with a simple install.

On a Honda Odyssey (2021), you do NOT need to trim the under-panel on the driver side to make it fit with the hitch installed. You can also install with the exhaust in place, but you still might want to decouple the exhaust hanger nearest the section where the receiver is connected to the frame for a bit of extra working room.

by:

I appreciate the level of effort. It was correct. One step in the directions was the clean the OEM nuts on the frame of the car. Great advice. Please do this well in places where road dirt can be sprayed up into the existing nuts welded in the frame.

by:

Excellent service and a great product! The delivery was a bit concerning given the condition of how the box arrived; however, thanks to the foresight in packing & taping the hardware to the hitch, nothing was lost in transit!

by:

Pretty easy to install. Did have some scuffs on the paint even though the outside packaging was not damaged. Hit it with some bedliner in a can and seems to be holding up nicely.

Easy install on a 2019 Honda Odyssey as described. Purchased an Alta Rack bike carrier for this setup, however there is a lot of flexing on the trailer hitch while driving the vehicle. The rack is snug, however the hitch itself is flexing when used under the rated weight limits. Frustrating.

I recommend making sure that the hitch hardware has been tightened down according to the torque specifications listed in the manual. I also suggest using an anti rattle device with the bike rack which can further eliminate movement. It is part # RM-061.

This Curt trailer receiver has worked flawlessly. We use it on a 2018 Honda Odyssey minivan to haul two bikes with our 1UP rear bike rack. The receiver was not too difficult to install (but do it in the daylight!). All in all - very pleased with the product and etrailer's instructions and service!

Curt trailer hitch for our 2020 Honda Odyssey fits wonderfully. Did have to modify the wiring connection only to make it easy on the wife. As we fold down the 3rd row seating for carrying our 4-legged children. It is heavy and believe to be very durable. Fast shipping was another great service.
