With a 5,000-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 500-lb tongue weight rating, this hitch is built for all the light to moderate towing jobs most folks need. Whether you’re pulling a small trailer, mounting a cargo carrier, or hauling bikes, the Class III 2" receiver gives you the flexibility to use the widest range of common towing accessories. The square-tube design adds strength while keeping a clean, balanced look under the bumper.
This hitch bolts straight onto the frame—no welding required. The entire hardware kit and installation instructions come in the box, so you can tackle the job at home without special tools or modifications. The precision, robotic welds mean everything lines up right where it should, making the fit straightforward and frustration-free.
The gloss black powder coat finish is layered over a protective base coat for long-term rust resistance. That means road salt, moisture, and grime won’t eat away at the steel even after years of use. It’s a fully welded hitch that’s made to be sturdy and dependable through daily towing, weekend projects, and cross-country trips alike.
Because this hitch uses a standard 2" x 2" receiver opening, it’s compatible with most ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers out there. You can swap between towing setups or storage add-ons without hunting for adapters. A ball mount, pin, and clip are sold separately so you can choose exactly what fits your needs.

It came quickly. The mechanic said it was bent, but that had occurred during shipping. He was able to make the hitch work.
I got a trailer hitch and wiring harness for a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The products were shipped quickly and customer service was great. Instructions were included that made the install go very smoothly (in addition to videos on youtube). I would not hesitate to purchase from etrailer again.
Received the package yesterday afternoon---outstan service from order (Janice) to shipping dept.
Note: thank you to the shipping person for taping the 5 loose items to the hitch itself ( fillament tape ROCKS)-Received all even though box was shreaded in transit. I am very impressed with the quality welding on hitch and cant wait to install this weekend .Will pass on my excellent service to others.
A fine job by American workers!!!!
I am a 67 year old man . I purchased this hitch for a 2007 Jeep Liberity. It was heavy and well made. It fit perfectly, installation was a snap. I installed by my self in about 45 minutes. I have no pictures but it looks great .Intend to use it for bike rack and pull small trailer. Thanks for a great product and great service. Leonard S.
Hitch was just as described, it lined up perfectly. Super fast shipping. One problem - enclosed bolts were too large. I needed the hitch on to be able to pick up our new camper, couldn't what to have replacements sent, so I just went to Lowe's to buy the correct bolts. otherwise a great transaction
E-trailer upgraded my shipping at no cost. My hitch came with no damage and 4 days earlier than I expected. The install went effortlessly. I will always use and recommend in the future
Hitch arrived in less than 5 days with standard shipping. Hitch was very easy to install. I recommend retapping the holes. Just remember they are metric not SAE. Perfect fit less than a quarter inch under bumper. Instructions were very easy to follow and having the YouTube link online was a great help.
Great customer service and follow up by etrailer personnel. I had some difficulty on the installation from the ground without putting the vehicle on a hoist or ramp. The overall experience was great, the instructions, video and website information was very helpful.
Love It!2006 Jeep Liberty. Ordered hitch, came super fast. Gas station guys put hitch on in less then 15 minutes, and they didn't even charge me! Perfect fit, couldn't be happier. Had to order the Hitch Adapter to fit my 1 1/4 thule bike rack that I got from my brother's friend, but that's okay cuz I saved money all around!!
When things go this smooth I'm a happy person!
1st Time Buyer through etrailer.comI am extremely happy with my first experience with etrailer.com. The whole process was simple and easy from the internet search to the ordering to the delivery of my products. I just, today, received my Trailer Hitch Receiver and accessories. I am sure that installing my said products will be just as easy.
I was especially impressed with etrailer's team that kept me up-to-date on the confirmation of my order to the date they shipped my products. The whole process took less than 5 days. I will in the future look to etrailer.com for any additional products I might need.
Thank you etrailer.com.
It is a good trailer hitch but be for you start go buy new bolts wrong size I think by the reviews they should get it right
Quality product. It took a little persuasion to make it fit around the gas tank guard on my 2003 Jeep Liberty, but it worked. The shape of the shield wouldn't allow the holes to line up so i bent the shield a little to make it work. Not easy, but that's expected with aftermarket parts sometimes. Excellent service from etrailer -they upgraded my already free shipping and my entire order arrived in 3 days!
Hitch arrived at 3:23 pm. I arrived home at 4:42 pm and it installed by myself at 5:12 pm. Exhaust pipe got in the way of the last bolt on right side but able tighten with wrench. Will need to take tire off to torque correctly. I do have one suggestion, that being that the safety chain location should be moved forward as much as possible. As you it is directly over the pin and clip location which makes it cramped for a locking pin and safety chains.
Everything arrived as expected, although the box did have a nice sized hole where one side of the hitch had broken through. The hitch itself was not damaged though. The bolts that came with the kit were the correct size, however they were colored (goldish tint) like a grade 8 bolt, but did not have the grade 8 markings on the heads. I went to the store and replaced them with known grade 8 bolts.
Fitment was spot on, with no issues with bolt holes not lining up. I was quite pleased with how almost the complete hitch is hidden; the only part you see is the receiver itself. Nice!
Overall, I'm very pleased...
Suggestions:
1) My Liberty did not have the factory fuel tank skidplate, therefore there were no bolts in the existing mounting holes. This along with 5 years of salty winters made for some work with a tap to clean the threads out before installation. Like other's that had similar reviews, if this scenario fits, go ahead and source a 12mm coarse thread tap ahead of time. The passenger-side-forward mounting bolt is directly above the exhaust...it's tricky to get to with a long tap.
2) The hitch itself is heavy and awkward; a second set of hands is almost mandatory.
Installed in less than 30 minutes on 2003 Jeep Liberty. Six bolts, will have to borrow a Torque wrench to complete installation before towing. Also purchased a wiring harness and 4-pole to 7-pole connector. After watching video on WEB site, completed the entire installation (hitch, wiring harness and connector in less than two (2) hours. By
I read the reviews and learned to tap out the holes before starting. Unfortunately the tap and die kit that I got had the regular long handle and the gas tank got in the way. After doing a few of them and taking a break I got creative and hammered the 12m 1.75 tap into a torx socket. Things went smoother after that until I had to put the last bolt in. No matter how I tried and tried to line them all up it wouldn't work right. After 15 minutes or so of struggling I was able to use the gas tank as a prop to get the last one close enough to get the blot started and tightened it the best I could. I am only using it to haul some landscaping thins in from time to time and I believe it should be fine. Otherwise I would have returned it and gotten one that lined up correctly.
Perfect fit and install was a breeze. I was worried about parts being missing when I saw the condition the box came in. To my surprise the packer at etrailer had taped all the parts directly to the hitch so turned out to be no problem. The hitch looks great or I should say what you can see of it, because it is hidden well. Thanks again for everything and I will definatly be a lifelong customer.
My experience with etrailer.com was a great one. The sales rep. Rebecca N. was so delightful and knowledgeable. She walked me through the entire process right down to installation. Installing the hitch and wiring harness was simple. Thank you Rebecca and etrailers.com!
I will refer and do business with etrailer.com in the future.
I liked the quality of the product that I receiveed the only issue that I had was when the box was delivered the trailer hitch was protruding through the bottom of the box. During installation it was apparent the hitch was no longer square and not all of the bolts would line up. I did manage to square it back up with a jack and install properly.
The product came well packaged and just as expected. The installation was for a Jeep '06 Liberty and the fit was perfect. It looks great; only the receiver itself is visible. The only real delay was due to the holes in the frame being VERY dirty and that's not etrailer's fault :) I thought the bolts were too big at first but they were correct; there was just that much crud in the holes. The install would have been as estimated but the cleaning took me a couple of hours because of my limited tools. This wasn't the case on my other vehicle's install (only 30 minutes) but plan for it just in case.
Customer service is outstanding. This was my second receiver purchased at etrailer and I will be back...great shopping experience.
I ordered this for my 2007 Jeep Liberty. The package was mailed to my APO address and arrived quickly. The box didn't make it too good, but the bolts and other things were taped very well to the hitch itself and were in good shape. I wasn't expecting a box to hold a heavy hitch very well, but it made it ok. The main advantage was it was able to be mailed to my APO address.
The hitch mounted very easily. I did it by myself, so I got a box and put the hitch on it and got one side started with a bolt and then went to the other side. It went up easy. It fit perfectly and was mounted in about 30 minutes including the time to clean out the threads in the car frame. I am very very happy with the hitch and would suggest it to anyone that is looking for one. etrailer was absolutely excellent in their service.
One note!!! Make sure you get a 12mm course threat Tap (M12x1.75) to clean out the old rusted out threads that you are mounting the hitch to. I read that advice in a review and it was very very good info. I would have had a very hard time getting the bolts started without cleaning the threads out first.
This is a great product and was sent very quickly. I installed this on a 2006 Jeep Liberty. I would recommend that before you start installing, that you get yourself a M12x1.75 tap for the factory receiving nuts under the vehicle. Mine were rusty and I could not have installed this without one. In order to get the tap into the front right nut, I had to move the exhaust out of the way which meant I had to pull off the rubber mounting bracket. This wasn't easy but I eventually got it to slide off with oil, channel locks, a screw driver, and some creativity. Getting it back on was much easier than getting it off but that took more time than everything else combined. Once I had access and got the nuts tapped, the intallation was a breeze and it looks great.
looks very sturdy and was easy install
Easy install, great price, I'm happy!

Check to make sure the weld-nuts are really clean first. Most of the times we get feedback about bolts being to large, the problem is actually corrosion and debris built up in the weld-nuts. Mistakes do happen and sometimes the wrong bolts are packaged. But making sure the weld-nuts are clean is the best first step. Re-sending the same properly sized bolts still wont work if the nuts are dirty or corroded.
