A hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13044 is a custom-fit for the 2007 Jeep Liberty. Hitches for the Liberty were not designed with the Ford Ranger in mind, and will not fit your 2001 Ford Ranger.
If you would like to add a hitch to your 2001 Ford Ranger, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13019. This hitch was specifically designed for your 2001 Ford Ranger and will fit all models. It is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 4,000 lbs and tongue weight of 400 lbs.
